Yeah. Unfortunately we don't live in a black and white world like simpletons wish we did.

Your perception is the sum of your positive and negative qualities.

Unfortunately for Schiano, the Penn St stuff was only made worse by the fact he is an ass head coach.

In other words, a negative plus a negative is sure as hell not positive.

If the guy was a saint off the field and everyone loved him, it'd be more likely to believe he didn't know anything. Because he's a douche, it throws everything else into question.

Only given the circumstances, with a good DC I can get behind Gundy. I think 8.4 million is beyond stupid, but whatever.

If Gundy is in Dallas why is there a plane, theoretically, headed to Stillwater?

Gundy is ... a fine hire. But it shows nothing has changed, really.

Everyone in the Gundy thread are verbatim saying if Currie pulls this off they’d forgive him. Seriously???? This is what I was afraid of! This is a Haslam move and he is about to win again. Biker was right... sad day.

To be clear. This is fulmer and boosters pushing for Gundy. Nothing to do with Currie. If it did...we’d have schiano right now.

Bingo. The media defending Schiano are completely forgetting how much everyone at Tampa Bay despised him.

While I honestly understand those with legitimate connections wanting to remain loyal to these connections, this is has got to be exposed. I don't blame the guys posting here for not betraying their sources. I blame the sources for not giving them the go ahead to reveal it all.

Then we must continue to fight to have him removed, even if it means missing the early signing deadline. That would only set this class back a slight bit but could be made up with the right hire, imho.

I agree until Currie and the HOH are removed we will never be relevant again

I'd say it's time to shut this thread down. I have followed it for innumerable hours the last 7 weeks or so. I have hoped, but it is just crystal clear that Gruden doesn't want to be the HFC at UT. I understand why. If you want to live in Knoxville long-term, you don't put that at risk that by possibly failing as HFC at UT - and let's admit that failure or at least fan-perceived under performance is a possibility for any coach. I think that is what is in Gruden's mind. JMO

I have some info that I am trying to get permission to share. It absolutely 100% confirms Haslams involvement and that he is trying to do damage control. Please Vol Nation do not let up !!!

Honestly, if you have that kind of info, you need to email it anonymously to someone in the media.

If you are that 100% sure, and can prove it, then send it to someone in the media like Clay Travis and let what ever happens happens.

Could you possibly lose a friend of this? Yes, but we're at a crossroads for this University and program. Do we sit back and let the devil continue to pull the strings, or do we take the right path and walk into the light?

Choice is your's

As I am listening to Fox Sports Knoxville, one of the hosts recently claimed that a source within the Athletic Department confirmed that a call from Jimmy Haslam came in today and went straight to "the big man" -> John Currie. TIFWIW.

The fact of the matter is, if you googled his name before Sunday night, what would you have seen. That’s where we are in today’s world. We couldn’t afford that hire after all the Title IX stuff

I agree it is a completely wasted attempt at hiring a coach. Regardless of what school you are, or how desperate your situation, to bring in anyone in those years at PSU is a no-no. That is obvious. What I have a hard time with is that we turned this situation into some moral high-ground issue when at the very heart of it is that we were just pissed that Greg Schiano is not that great of a coach. If he would have been seen as an upright, good and wholesome man we still would have said, "no way! Not the coach we want." And, we shouldn't be made to feel stupid for wanting a better coach for the football team. The baggage hurts the perception, but is by no means the real issue at hand. But it sells airtime. If we wouldn't have painted the rock like a bunch of whining kids and kept it about football it would have been a little better for us...IMHO.

THIS^ ......... The only problem I ever had with any of them was their arrogance in their information
