Just do what I do, put the people who are toxic on "ignore". I've been here about 2 weeks and I've probably got 30 "ignores". Some people just need to be muted. Really appreciate what you bring to the board.

I don't put people on ignore. Just a personal preference.

I thought your summary of what went down that you posted in the previous thread was outstanding. Wish I'd written it. :) You laid it out pretty much exactly as I think it happened. Currie was running a shell game. We are fortunate that the whistle was blown in time for Vol Nation to kill the Schiano travesty.

he laid the hammer down, that was a great response.......may need to copy it here.

Here it is:

@flabuck UT didn't want an individual who has been accused by an individual who was under oath of not reporting child sexual abuse. UT didn't want an individual who was voted as the least desirable coach to work for by NFL players. UTdidn't want a person who mistreated multiple employees while working for Tampa Bay. UT didn't want an individual who claims he never did what he was accused of, but yet has never sued McQuary for slander.

Bottom line is that there is much evidence that he's a horrible person, and that doesn't even include the issues relating to possibly not reporting the child sex abuse.

Before you criticize the fans of our proud university, you had better look at your own cast of characters and their many faults. Like your football coach, who had 30+ players arrested at Florida in a 2 year span. Like your AD, who narrowly avoided a show cause penalty during the chaos and deceit that was the last few years of the Jim Tressell era. Gene Smith, who has covered and minimized rulebreaking before, is the last person that I would listen to when it comes to moral and ethical issues in sports.

The difference between the osu and Tennessee is that the fans here realize that there is more to winning than overlooking ethics and morality. It is a sad state of our country when fans get criticized for standing up against a crappy man like Schiano, who was a crappy man even without the allegations of not reporting sexual abuse. And, BTW, do you REALLY think that he spent 5 years of his life working with Sandusky at PSU and didn't know what was going on, when there were rumors for years and years regarding Sandusky's behavior? Get real.

I've never been more proud of a fanbase that what I am of UT fans today. This was a far bigger issue that what is being reported by the national media. It's time that there is accountability for leaders of athletic programs, who get millions of taxpayers dollars from you and me.

Oh, and the other aspect of all of this that gets no reporting by the national media. Who pushed and pushed for Schiano to be hired? None other than our great owner of the Browns, Jimmy Haslam. After all that Jimmy has destroyed with the Browns, do you really think that he and his recommendations should be listened to? H*LL NO! People in Knoxville will not be happy until integrity is restored to UT,the President, Chancellor and Currie are fired, and Jimmy Haslam is brought down a few pegs and learns to make good business decisions related to sports..

Bull. This whole thing that went down with Schiano had absolutely nothing to do with his past. The truth is that Tennessee fans didn't want him because we felt as though he was not a good enough of a coach to coach Tennessee. And that is probably true. That is why fans revolted. We were angry because it wasn't Gruden, Petersen, Patterson, etc. I have no problem saying, "We don't think GS is good enough of a coach for Tennessee," but to make all of this about an issue that you and I have absolutely no clue about and every court/lawyer/person involved has given passing remarks to GS in regards to this issue is shameful. Let's not make ourselves out to be heroes on some moral high ground when all it really was was that we wanted a better coach.

Et tu, Brute?

Unbelievable

Our "white whale" was Schiano the whole time
it really is! Now we know why Currie was so confident in the direction of the "search" that he went to the Bahamas . He had already hired Schiano

Y’all see the poll about Kiffin? 85% of Volnation would take him back. I have to say... I’d consider it. He thrives as a villain and right now, that’s what we are to a lot of people. It’s been 10 years. All the hot chicks have turned us down and the one left is cross eyed but is shaply for someone who’s 5’2. What’d ya do?

Tennessee has reached out to David Cutcliffe about the Vols' head coaching job, but Cutcliffe informed UT officials that he wasn't interested and plans to finish his coaching career at Duke. The Blue Devils are bowl eligible for the 5th time in the last 6 years.

Yes, yes , yes....if it stops then Currie and the admin wins. VBS is very real to me as I haven’t lived in Tennessee for over 10 years and haven’t been home in 3. However , I believe in this fight and can’t let apathy set in just because Currie hasn’t been fired yet!

Absolutely. Everyone needs to send emails and make phone calls every day until Currie and Davenport are removed from office. The cancer has to be removed before the program can recover. If the cancer remains, we all lose.

I've always been adamant about not wanting Lane back... until now. We are such a mess, heck why not. He doesnt sound so bad anymore.

I'm getting a seat on the Lane Train

There were multiple reasons the Schiano was objectionable. But I think it is wrong to suggest that his questionable history in relation to child abuse didn't play a primary role in yesterday's events.

So has anyone looked into the gridironnow report that multiple athletic department sources are saying both Davenport and Currie filed false flight plans and by implication might have sent planes to ruse locations to throw off lurkers? If these are probable (FOIA request should be filed) this would be likely criminal in nature. Misappropriation of state or university funds, staff time, and definitely fuel etc if empty planes were used
The state comptroller and FAA would probably have jurisdiction and I assume filing false flight plans is also illegal and punishable. Anyone looking into this??

Anyone can file a flight plan for any aircraft. It is traceable though. if filed electronically you have to log in. If calling in a flight plan then you have to give information and point of contacts.

Fire Currie chants during wrestling

My Lord of love our fanbase! Some times I cringe and sometime's I laugh til I cry........it's like those family members during the holidays you dread seeing....but you love them to death regardless.....I think all Tennessee fans have a cousin eddy inside of them (disclaimer: did not mean for that last sentence to come across with an incestuous sexual inuendo.....we are not bammers....you all know what I mean)

Why in the hell are coaching still being contacted by the AD? Events over the past 36 hours obviously show they cannot be trusted.

Okay laugh at me all you want, but to change to subject for just a second, when the Hell did Jesse Palmer end up on the Food Network? My wife is laying next to me watching some cooking competition, and there's Jesse in all his big forehead, gelled haired glory. Sorry, just needed to get a good chuckle from my fellow Vols.

Wife?
I thought you were female. My apologies.
