In 2012 I followed this Gruden theory with incredible high hopes. I have once again found myself sucked back in, but keep talking myself out of the possibility because of the letdown of 2012.

However one thing keeps me hoping...I am a father of a son in college. And I keep thinking that if my son attended a university where my name was the one being rumored to be the next coach, wouldn't my son be harassed on a daily basis with "is your dad going to coach us?" And if I had no plans to coach said university, wouldn't my son say "please tell everyone so I don't have to answer the questions anymore"? Im sure his son deals with enough with his father being on MNF...can't imagine what he has to deal with in regards to these rumors. As a father, I wouldnt make him have to deal with it, if I wasn't planning on being the next coach.

Shrug...

At this point, does it matter? I want GRUDEN!!! But if not, bring Phil back with an all star staff for all I care. This is Rocky Bottom. We need player development, strength and conditioning, and someone that can make the proper game time decisions. Is that too much to ask?

I've watched the sec ebb and flow for 40+ years. Our beloved vols are at the lowest point ever. There is no way Currie gives us nothing but the best.

First. With how secretive this search has been you really think they’ll have Mullen check in at the front desk?

Second: if Mullen is in Knoxville that means he would have told his team and no way that hasn’t gotten out yet.

Third: it could easily be someone they thought was Mullen without a pic or anything we have no way to trust this person. There have been Gruden sightings from here to the moon, why does this one suddenly be accurate?

So, no I don’t think Mullen checked into a hotel in Knoxville. No idea if he’ll be our coach or not but come on, no way he checked into a hotel in Knoxville for all to see
