My thought on that and let me preface it by first saying I want Gruden. Mullen has been respectable and above average driving a Pinto. What could he do behind the wheel of a Ferrari? But I want Gruden like everyone else. That’s just a question to ponder.

Does anyone in UT respect ESPN? I mean I dont know about you guys but I personally dont care if espn has a bone to pick with UT for whatever reason justified or not. I want to take their best broadcaster, and ill take anything else I can get from such a horrible network. F Communists.

To me, the fact that ESPN has flashed up Dave Clawson as next head coach just to troll is about as close to a confirmation of Gruden to the Hill as we can have without him standing at the podium.

If Currie announces Clawfense 2, seriously, someone will take a selfie of himself sneaking up on Currie and pile driving him into Thompson Boling floor. I'm trying to think of a Tennessean who would be more hated and the only thing I can come up with is Cherokee feelings towards Andrew Jackson.

Gruden.... very Soon.

FYI.... ATL_Vol and Atlanta Vol are 2 different people. The user you are referring to is Atlanta Vol, not ATL_Vol.

Currie walks out of the "T" at halftime. Says I have a special announcement. I would like to formally announce our next head coach.....Jon Gruden.
Gruden runs through the "T" as the band begins to play Rocky Top!
Gruden takes the mic and leads the crowd singing Rocky Top.

Man, I love that song.

The problem is that the Official Jon Gruden threads are for discussions of bringing JG here as coach. It's sort of a given that people are reasonably convinced that (1) this is a good idea and (2) it will happen. The threads aren't meant for hey-what-about-Norvell discussions, although you are free to debate burger joints, musical preferences, handguns, duck hunting, low-carb diets, (***edit to add: alcohol consumption choices; sorry, Ape!) and other critically important lifestyle choices.

There are umpty-million other threads to debate who would be the ideal coach.

This thread already knows who the ideal coach is. :hi: (plus Petersen as backup)

Based on a couple emails I’ve received today, I feel the need to reiterate that THiS IS A PRO-GRUDEN thread.

If you don’t believe any of the hype, simply move to the Mullen or Norvell threads, or any other thread on the site for that matter. This particular thread isn’t for you.

This is a lighthearted thread for those who are having a blast following all the Gruden rumors and wish to do so with other fans.

We don’t need trolls, anti-Gruden folks trying to stir the masses, or self appointed mods trying to call out others in here.

It’s not for everyone. I get that. But it is what it is and many of us have enjoyed the ride so far, however it turns out.

Please make sure this post makes it to the top of the next Gruden thread. If not, please report that post and remind us to include it. Also please report obvious trolls who are clearly here only to harass and incite. I’m not referring to those sharing respectful opinions. The difference should be obvious to most.
