If UT was scrambling, then why the hell did Currie stay in Knoxville ALL DAY yesterday after coming back from the Bahamas when everyone expected him to be so active on the coaching search front?
Why would he just chill when he doesn’t have a coach and he has told recruits who postponed their official visits, that they would know who the coach is during their visit?

HE. HAS. HIS. MAN.

Gruden, Petersen or Frost.

I’m 51% Gruden

Your picks and the order are identical to the way I see and believe.I'm a lot higher on Grude but either of these 3 would simply be dynamic,IMHO.

I hear we got Dino Babers for HC and he's bringing in Butch as VFL Coordinator.

Fact: Gruden knows there is a Tennessee coaching search and that people want him to come here.

Fact: Gruden mentions the Vols and rocky top for no reason at all during a radio interview knowing well what would happen.

He's either a troll or we got him. Hopefully he's not a troll...and I don't think he is

Thanks all for the replies. I tell you another thing that is a fact that should be encouraging.

Have you ever been in an interview that went awful and you walked out of there thinking "I definitely did not get the job."

Chances are all of us have had this experience at least once in our lives. You know things didn't go well.

So now why would Gruden contact a number of names to potentially join him on his staff? If both sides were interested, this makes sense. If only one side was interested (and you can pick either side) it does not make sense for him to contact those names at that time.

So to all replies, I hope we have him (or Petersen.) I hope he is not a troll.

And I definitely believe Brice to be a good, reputable reporter. But I also have a ton of respect for ESPN. It's just if you hear two different accounts from sources you believe in, it's hard to figure out what the truth is. I figured if I struggled with this, others would too.

Not really. I know he signed a contract.

I can't see him walking away from a signed contract. Nor can I see Tennessee firing him after he signed.

Therefore, I believe he will walk to the podium unless some unpredictable event outside human control intervenes.

I make one factual assumption: that he signed. That assumption is based on what I consider to be an absolutely reliable report. I should point out that at least two other independent sources have confirmed that Gruden signed. As always, take it or leave it as you wish. :)

Umm ok.

You lost me at that sentence.

If it is not Gruden then why has Currie allowed the rumors to keep going. That seems like a bad move for him and whoever the next coach is going to be.... So GRUDEN TO THE HILL!
