I don't understand why everyone...including the media at all levels...would think approval of >$300 mil in football related upgrades on campus = Mullen, Campbell or the like.

It is true he could easily work on our coaching hire from the Bahamas however do you think he would risk the negative impression it gives off if he did t have his man? Lots of folks would probably see his going there as NOT working on the job at hand. I think Currie is aware of this and would only go if his job were done. Grude on...,

If UT was scrambling, then why the hell did Currie stay in Knoxville ALL DAY yesterday after coming back from the Bahamas when everyone expected him to be so active on the coaching search front?
Why would he just chill when he doesn’t have a coach and he has told recruits who postponed their official visits, that they would know who the coach is during their visit?

HE. HAS. HIS. MAN.

Gruden, Petersen or Frost.

Gruden will still have mnf games after monday so it can’t be about his contract either. It is obvious most people are guessing when it comes to the ut search. I will be ecstatic if it is gruden but most of this just doesn’t add up imho.

I am on one paid site and here, distantly follow few others. So much talk about how worthless VN is on other site and so many "Why on earth would anyone with any real info/connections use VN?". Been here at least lurking since Gruden threads resumed this time around and much prefer here for all of this!

Was on TOS reading some older and more recent threads on coach search earlier. They may not think much of VN but some surely use info here to form their opinions. Been thinking lately VN is the perfect place to bring real info this go-around. No news outlet associations to guide and moderate discussion. With no news leaks from Currie, no other site can really get ANY information they will fully support. But we can simply because of who we are . . . VolNation (thank you Freak!).

So many outside, doubt us here. But we believe. I am now wondering if some higher ups simply decided to give the (theoretically speaking) little guys/gals something major over the bigshots for a change [like MIT, bubba and the like]. Just like TN getting Gruden will be. Cannot wait for the writing to be on the wall and Gruden to be at the podium.

Just my thoughts this morning as season winds down, hopefully with a win to keep us on the only 2 teams without 8 loss season list, and new day begins dawning on Tennessee Vols future . . .

There does seem to be a discrepancy between some of the local reports and national reports, and as a fan it is very difficult to decide what is true and what is not.

Currie himself said not to believe anything unless it came from him, but as he has remained tight lipped on this whole process that advice offers the fan base very little.

So either we have Gruden's or Petersen's name inked on a contract somewhere and are waiting until season's end to announce, or we are counting on Mullen to give us a shot as the national media says.

I have said it here before. I would love to have Gruden on board. Same thing for Petersen and even Mullen, which I know seems to be an unpopular opinion on this forum and that is completely fine for people to disagree with me. I just hope the local reports win out.

To anyone who read this post I ask you (mostly because I am not sure of it myself) what are the facts of this search? In other words, what do we actually know with 100% certainty? Would those facts help us to gain clarity in this confusing search?

IMHO bcarter is simply an all VOL member who has simply shared his opinion given the facts at his disposal. I do not however view him as a troll, simply someone that is cautious in his own way with a gut feeling different than some of us !

Gruden's latest GMC commercial almost seems like a giant troll.

In it he's looking at three GMCs ranting about tough choices.

I tried to add it all up to. To me Currie taking a vacation. Hiring a staff member before the head coach. Some kind of announcement this weekend with no formal interviews. No search firm. This all points to Gruden. In your opinion who else could be announced this weekend?
