I looked back to around page 250 to figure out what the Austin Thomas info from Hubbs was about. Can someone please link what he said?

Hubbs reporting that he thinks there's a good chance of Austin Thomas being on the new staff. Would be huge if true

Also, I find it odd that Hubbs thinks that Thomas would be part of the staff without knowing who the HC is going to be.. Currie has his man

.

While there's nothing I want more for Christmas than a heaping bowl of Grude. What is his tie to Austin. If anything, I feel worse than yesterday because he's tight with Les Miles. He worked for Miles twice now for a total of 4 years.

Combine that with Currie saying he was going to hire someone with proven SEC level winning experience and the Austin news gives them the sinking feeling that Miles is trotted out in a few days.

I do not want Miles and if it happens to be Miles then I will have to eat some crow myself because I have popped off to all my friends that it's Gruden lol :)

Austin Thomas is the general manager, basically he is the special assistant and manager of football operations for Orgeron. He organizers recruiting visits, team meetings, junior day, film sessions, everything. Now ask yourself, would an Ad hire this position without having a head coach in place?

Just my opinion, but I strongly doubt he would. This, coupled with the theory that Gruden wants a vol-heavy staff, and Hubbs nugget about Kevin Steele potentially interviewing “as a potential defensive coordinator” (per Hubbs a while back) sounds like Currie has know who his HC was for a while. Lines up with the MOU signed a month ago+contract signed last week theories

I think Miles is probably the kinda guy who'd love the taste of crow, so he'll probably take it off your hands for you.

I feel like you guys are my people.
Whenever I talk to anyone else, they think I'm crazy for saying that Gruden is coming - even my Vol friends. I don't want an unnamed coach that had a terrible SEC record. As was said in The Mighty Ducks: "It's not worth winning if you CAN'T WIN BIG."

Gruden to the Hill
and GTH everyone else!

I don't doubt that he knows who the coach is going to be. My fear remains that it's Miles. Thomas is a guy who left LSU for USC but only stayed at USC for 10 weeks. He then returned to Miles and LSU and cited personal relationships as the reason he returned to work for Miles.

Miles is on the market. Miles has apparently shown interest in the job. Thomas is a Miles guy. Currie stated the SEC level experience would be a big part of his job search.

I really really really hope it's not Miles. I'd just as soon have Fulmer back out there.

He was a recruiting intern under Fulmer. Worked with Kiffin here, then has been at LSU with Orgeron. He's the General Manager of LSU. One of only two in the country. Really good at recruiting and getting guys to the next level. He's a graduate of Lipscomb and a son of Tennessee. IN a nutshell.
