Complex world, but I place all my hopes in this happening.

F the NFL, seriously, we and Gruden owe them nothing. When moving to a new job the old employer is really not that important in relation to the new job, the priority shifts.

Especially, if we are to believe that Gruden was on the chopping block...

It seems quite a few people have decided Petersen and are fine with it. They will have done this guy or any other candidate not named Gruden a great injustice by not publicly squashing the theory like they had his agent do last time around.
This time around has felt very different to me. My top ten is all Gruden. Let’s finish this thing and begin the next phase of this adventure where we get to see who the assistants are.

Outside of a fluke run to the playoffs last year (largely because of a weak schedule) he's done nothing of note. This year his team has had 2 embarrassing losses to subpar teams after having an embarrassingly easy schedule once again.

Chris Petersen is not that good.

Took awhile but We came together on Gruden is coming and in a few more days We will come together on when the announcement is going to be :)

But Gruden is very professional about things. He won't burn a bridge with ESPN and especially won't with the NFL.

Having the head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers football team calling Monday Night Football for the next 5 weeks is incredible free publicity for our program and should help when it comes to recruiting kids in the 2019 and 2020 classes. They probably watch the NFL more than they do college cause that is where they ultimately want to be. It would be great for us in recruiting if Gruden is calling Monday Night Football games while officially the head football coach at Tennessee.

LMAO take a breath, sparky. My comment had zero to do with how much time MNF takes up and everything to do with whether it's permissible in the eyes of the NCAA, hence the use of the term "allowed".

If it’s Gruden it’ll be a super star assistant pool
If it’s Peterson it’ll be the Husky staff
If it’s Paterson I hope he brings his OCs with him

I’m 100% in on wanting Gruden. I’m 95% he’s signed based on the information we’ve gathered over the past 6-7 weeks. But, I wasn’t there and I don’t know any of you who know people who know people. So taking your word at face value would be careless on my part. So I resign to the fact that it may not be Gruden and at the end of the day only 1 outcome would totally take me out and that problem was solved 2 weeks ago when Butch was fired. It’s been a fun, wild 6-7 weeks and it looks like we only have a few days left till we all know who’s behind door number 1.
