On Monday, they let Gruden make his own official announcement at halftime of MNF.
Tuesday at noon, he is introduced at ceremony at TBA.

There aren't that many coaching legends in the annals of sports, football has their share, and once you get into the Gruden $ ballpark, $'s aren't the main motivation (well, if someone is out for greed maybe so, but they aren't going to be in the legends category when all is said and done anyway imo), so:
1) Gruden is hired and his motivation is to come do the legend thing --OR--
2) He's afraid to fail -- AND--
3) I don't think his personality is wired to be afraid to fail

I have heard 50% chance it IS Gruden ... direct from my source.... that is all I can get ... of course maybe I can talk to him tomorrow...

I'm not the least bit concerned with his ESPN deal, unless ESPN is just trying to save a couple hundred k's, which won't look good on their resume either. Matter of fact, I'm not impressed with ESPN's recent resume in any case.

This is at odds with customary business practice, and it limits UT's "wow-factor" by allowing it to break from somewhere other than them.

No I'm just saying is his stint over already at ESPN? If so, Monday would work. If he works Monday I say it's Tuesday or Wednesday at the #soonest.

Yep, agreed. With the one caveat that ESPN so bad wants to break this story they will somehow be involved, but agree, it will be at the AD's podium when and how he chooses.

Yep. While ESPN would want to break it, I'm sure the NFL isn't onboard of it happening during their Monday night game.

I don’t think he would before UT announces him but I can definitely see him having the opportunity to say something on air. His MNF fans deserve the opportunity to hear why he’s leaving imo...
