You can’t interview coaches currently under contract without permission from the current employer - and no AD is going to give you permission to do so until season is over

You don’t travel to where the coach is to speak with their agent

So all these rumors of where Currie has traveled. I’m calling BS.

Remember, as AV pointed out, these conversations occur in places we would not suspect.

They normally ask as a professional courtesy, but college coach arent under collective bargaining agreement. They do not HAVE to have permission of the school to talk to them. Now NFL coaches are a different story.
