My vote was for David but I think you may be more right than you know. Anyone ever tell you he was assigned to Lane to be his "Nannie" to keep him out of trouble. That didn't work as well as planned/needed...

I had heard he kinda stood up against the administration and Haslam during the Dooley hire, hence why he didn't get the job this time. Haslams have always wanted a "yes" man. DB is like a lot of us. Loves the university so much it cost him his job when he did interviews saying how much he wanted this job. I hope he's brought back to some capacity.

The pgp key makes sense and is the most obvious solution. However, why would Bubba want to disclose his identity (or mission, line of work, who he works for, etc. to anyone, media or not) when he has operated under full anonymity? I can't reconcile this point, therefore, in being an EE, I looked at the this from an entirely different angle. Undoing the hexideximal bytes to determine its decimal equivalent. At this point, though, either the numbers lead somewhere or we need a number-to-letter key, or Bubba is confident in leaking who he is (or what he does). With the propensity for doxxing so sought after, I just can't reconcile this. Maybe it's just an indication that he's Bubba on VN, and nothing more.

SFD, did you ever have Dr. Alberto Garcia? I had him in IE 405 as an elective.

I don't remember a Dr. Garcia. When would this have been?

You can’t interview coaches currently under contract without permission from the current employer - and no AD is going to give you permission to do so until season is over

You don’t travel to where the coach is to speak with their agent

So all these rumors of where Currie has traveled. I’m calling BS.

Remember, as AV pointed out, these conversations occur in places we would not suspect.

The Grude News, special investigative edition. For those just joining us...

2011 UT Vols Football season – Vols go 5-7 and the writing is on the wall Derek Dooley will be on his way out the next season barring a miracle.

Nov 18, 2012 – Athletic Director Dave Hart fires Derek Dooley prior to end of season. Vols finish at 5-7 for the second straight year.

Nov 2012 – Initial Grumors are started almost immediately after the firing. Gain strength in the coming weeks.

Nov/Dec 2012 – Negotiations with Gruden fall through. At the time, Gruden’s agent stated Vols were in a “fantasyland” for thinking he would come. Which could have been interpreted as a very public way of saying “You folks are out of your mind if you think your offer was anywhere near acceptable.”

Dec 7, 2012 – Cincinnati Coach Lyle Allen “Butch” Jones officially announced as Vols newest head coach.

2012/2013 – Dave Hart reorganizes Athletic Department funds and frees up money originally intended for the academic side to assist shoring up athletic funds operating in the red

2014 Vols Football Season – Vols go 7-6 and are showing signs of rebuilding and on field performance is getting better.

5 Sep-3 Oct 2015 – Vols go 2-3 in start of season, losing to OU, UF and Arkansas

Oct 4, 2015 – MIT_Beaver registers on VN

2015 Vols Football season – Vols finish season 9-4 with extremely convincing win in the Outback Bowl. End up ranked #22 in final BCS poll.

2016 Vols Football season – Vols go 9-4 again, however, a late season meltdown causes them to miss the SEC Championship and possible Sugar Bowl bid. The primary engine in the offense, Josh Dobbs, graduates and the Vols are left leaderless at the QB helm for the first time in four years.

2016 – UT Athletics post record profits. Dave Hart announces retirement. Jimmy Cheek to step down as UT Chancellor.

2017 – Newest Athletic Director John Currie denies raise and extension to Coach Butch Jones

2017 Vols Football season – Vols go in initially ranked, but early losses including a blowout win by UGA at home show the team is not what many thought it could be. Fan base starts grumbling for coaching change

Early October 2017 – Rumors start that Coach Jones will not be back for the 2018 season and was informed after the UGA game. Vols continue playing “uninspired” football and lose four of the next five games with Jones at the helm.

October 2017 – Grumors start in completely unrelated thread. After being mostly silent, MIT_Beaver posts very cryptic messages in coaching search threads.

Nov 13, 2017 – Athletic Director John Currie officially releases Jones, names Coach Brady Hoke as interim head coach.

13-17 Nov 2017 – (Rumored) Jon Gruden signed as newest head coach at UT. Announcement not made public, however, many say the deal is done and not all are connected to UT Athletics. Zero word from the Athletic Department as Currie has information flow on lockdown.

Grand Vol, thank you for the update and for the timeline. Consider adding Larry Scott to the mix. There are questions surrounding his hire that play into this. Was Lyle mandated to hire an OC from within the program, or was he denied funds to find a qualified OC and thus had to hire from within the program? If so, this adds credence to the notion that things were engineered to happen at just this time. I have no doubt that Lyle would have failed without Larry Scott as OC, but he would not have failed so spectacularly. Larry Scott might have been insurance that Lyle would be out.

I thought it wasn't a rule that you couldn't meet with current head coach's?

I think he will be back in some way. I got to tell you your avatar and screen name have to be my favorite. Outside of the scantily clad women of course.

Of course he hired well considering where we were and what we needed at the time. Not sure what You are trying to insinuate.

Well some have said that sports and football in particular are an after thought and that hiring Gruden is some sort of take back in the control or switch of guard as it pertains to boosters and media connections. All I’m saying is Barnes looks like a good hire and not the duldrums, terrible decision some would have you believe was going on in the AD. So in that regard it negates some of the message they have been posting.

Watching basketball,it's so good to watch an all out hustle 110% effort team and it's OURS for a change! Come on Gruden, we want a football that plays this hard.

Jimmy Hyams just left his house to go buy a turkey.

No he's getting a ham. It's his opinion that ham should be the meat of thanksgiving not turkey. Its also his opinion that turkey is overrated and just not that good.Anyone who disagrees is clueless and has no actual sources. He stands behind his statements

Already knocked down two plates. Hopefully we know nothing this weekend. I haven’t got anything done since all this started

The hexadecimal code can be undone and converted to decimal like so:

For instance,

941A = (9x16^3) + (4x16^2) + (1x16^1) + (10x16^0)
= 36864 + 1024 + 16 + 10
= 37914 (decimal)

Hexadecimal uses a base of 16, decimal a base of 10, octal a base of 8 and binary a base of 2. Hexadecimal entries are in the range of 0-9 and A-F (10-15).

As for translating this any further, the key someone posted last night may be needed. We need a map to go from number representations to letters (unless the numbers and a particular combination lead us elsewhere).

Nothing earthshattering, but thought I'd give a little background on this number representation and provide my opinion.

Not going to lie. Yours is top 3. One of my all time favorites even though I'm only 30. Haha. I've watched a whole lot of old school Vols ball. YouTube has been my hero! Happy thanksgiving, SC..
