Official Jon Gruden thread XLI

If pm and jg know that currie wants this under wraps, why go to the busiest restaurant on game day. Makes no sense.

One of the reasons I was thinking it is not likely. But it’s also, conceivable. I would just say, if it were a court case, you would probably have a hung jury.

The pgp key makes sense and is the most obvious solution. However, why would Bubba want to disclose his identity (or mission, line of work, who he works for, etc. to anyone, media or not) when he has operated under full anonymity? I can't reconcile this point, therefore, in being an EE, I looked at the this from an entirely different angle. Undoing the hexideximal bytes to determine its decimal equivalent. At this point, though, either the numbers lead somewhere or we need a number-to-letter key, or Bubba is confident in leaking who he is (or what he does). With the propensity for doxxing so sought after, I just can't reconcile this. Maybe it's just an indication that he's Bubba on VN, and nothing more.

SFD, did you ever have Dr. Alberto Garcia? I had him in IE 405 as an elective.

Does not matter in the least. All that matters is that he has signed (or not)? Based on the pieces of info floating out there (pix not included), I think he has. Just too much on the side of Gruden to UT vs. someone else. If, as some have suggested, Gruden is the smokescreen, that would be one of the most idiotic strategies of the decade. It would alienate a large part of our fanbase for years. Don't see that as a viable scenario.

I agree. But with so many doubters it helps calm the people.

It was also confirmed by USA Today that Chip Kelly turned down an offer from UT. Don’t completely rule out that the Seattle confirmation could be smoke as well.

So the whole production team for Espn is on the smokescreen? Guys I want Gruden to be the next coach as bad as anyone, but some of things are just getting out of hand.

Just saying, it comes off a little mafia that they confirm he was there, then suddenly cannot remember or confirm. 🤔

1. a single picture of the back of someone is no confirmation
2. if it was him at Calhoun's on gameday next to PM, you would have seen multiple pictures of him
3. No one would threaten anyone over anything like this

So what you are saying is SOON?

The Calhoun's photo and Seattle photo could not work with the time. The Calhoun's photo has a TV in the background showing the Ohio State-Illinois game. The score was 7-0, and the game kicked at 3:30 PM Eastern. A flight from Seattle would be 4 hours. Gruden would have had to take off from Seattle at 11:30 AM Eastern, which is of course 8:30 AM Pacific. Add in the travel time to and from the Seattle practice facility to the Seattle airport and from the Knoxville airport to Calhoun's...it just doesn't add up knowing that the Calhoun's photo was taken around 4:00 PM Eastern. Reversing the trip to be Knoxville first then Seattle still doesn't work as the Seattle pic came out before Gruden would have landed if he had left right after the Calhoun's photo was taken.

Both could not have happened on the same day unless Seattle was practicing at like 7:30 AM Pacific.

I've not seen it anywhere.

Okay, let's get this straight.

I've already admitted I don't remember if he said it, it was in his "about me" info or some cryptic message that could have been misunderstood. I also said it doesn't even matter anymore, that it was just interesting to me. But whatever it was or wasn't does exist here. I've been nowhere else to have seen it.

This is the confirmation I was referring to, not the photo.

Also, by threaten, I don’t mean with a baseball bat or anything. I am just saying something like calling in favors to cover it up.

I think it’s really, likely insanely unlikely, that these guys were at Calhoun’s. It’s about as unlikely as the big wig meeting that happened at Olive Garden.

First off, why risk a public spectacle you’re eventually going to have to explain and/or to try to control information from every person who could’ve been in or around Calhoun’s at that time? That is a lot of people, employees, and bystanders.

Second, if you’re a VIP at UT with access to a skybox and want Calhoun’s, you’d get Calhoun’s in your skybox. There’s no reason to go there for the food. See also the point above.

It’s not impossible by the literal meaning of the word, but it is unlikely by the literal meaning.
