Lex - what is your version of events on Thursday? Hart and JG cross swords in some way? I'm still mostly speculating about what might have gotten this thing off the tracks. And here is why I'm baffled...

For those that don't know, I believe there was a meeting just before thanksgiving between the big boys and JG. Everyone left that meeting believing he would be the next HC. Hence the heightened messages of "done deal" many of us probably heard around Thanksgiving. My understanding is the official players would be getting involved to get a deal done. Then some noise started midweek. Then Thursday it's off? I don't get how that could happen. The juice was was squarely behind getting Gruden up to that point.

Pick it up from there...

Gruden is the smokescreen. He suggested that Mike Holmgren coach the VOLS. That's the surprise.You heard it here first.

I concur. Larry, Mor, and Curley's comments about Dragnet (Hargin) after Barney's breaking news on Friday has forced me to find new soothsayers in the jungle.

Just relax people....I'm telling you it all makes perfect sense to me now......don't think or listen to any media because they don't anything at all...the media being in the dark is why there's a smokescreen right now...what I'm saying there is no smokescreen it's all media creating a smokescreen.....

Do you remember Jo Jo Covington and Tony Liggins from northwest. They had another guy named Thomas Ledford he was tough, but springfield was amazing. I was around 8 or 9 at the time and remember in well. Now that I see you played with dardens son I am sure you probably don't remember. GO VOLS!

as soon as they started saying no about Dragnet and then barney come on and said tarzan is not going to be king of the jungle then larry, moe, and Curley went straight for the throat with jungle listeners thats when i decided to start listiening to funny hat (ainge) over at the other station would rather listen to those guys anyday now they brought whole new perspective to red wolfs search of king of the jungle.
