Hargis stating if anyone can find ANYTHING he's ever published non-factual in 23 years, he'll come to Knoxville and apologize on air.

Harris says assistant pay near 4-5 million

Yeah, it seems Gruden is asking around 5-6M salary with 4.5-5m assistant... that is absolutely competitive, almost exactly what Alabama is paying Saban and friends. If this doesn't happen because of these numbers, I don't have any confidence that UT cares about returning this program to prominence.

press conference to alert us that gruden isnt coming to UT......or a press conference to speak upon the million rumors started on VN everyday?.......

I don't have a hard time believing Hargis. The university is more screwed up than anyone knows. I don't doubt there is a power struggle going on between folks with the real power and those that think because they have a nice cushy position with the university that it means they have power. I also don't doubt that the Knoxville media is full of it because they have been rubber stamping or ignoring the BS going on over at the university for years.

I said 6 months ago that until I saw real change (not just talking athletics here) I wasn't giving a dime of my money to that place - for anything. This just reinforces it. This is the worst economy in the past 50 years of this country and the idiots over there are spewing out major capital projects like money grows on trees. I don't care how much money is donated for each project, there is still debt service and other things that are funded by taxpayer funds. They pay the people that do the real jobs peanuts. They continue to raise tuition 10% every year as if no one is watching.

Finally they have a chance to spend money on something real that would actually boost the university's reputation nationally (instead of the failed research crap they put out) and bring in dollars, and they won't do it. Big Jim needs to march his son over there and have him start handing out pink slips by the dozens.

If Hart doesn't come out and clear this up soon there may be some assault and battery charges filed. Or murder. This is getting tense and nuts. Fanbase and media turning on each other. If it's smoke and mirrors, it's going beyond someone's intent.

SIAP but re: Hargis' source. Didn't he say earlier on Ainge that his source was one of the guys Gruden talked to about being on his staff? Maybe I am just making that up, but if that is the case and the guy is in Chattanooga couldn't his source be Dale Jones? Doesn't he coach at UTC? Again, SIAP or if I am incorrect anywhere here. Just my thoughts.

What is the general consensus on Greg Roman? I don't know very much about him

Harbaugh is a hell of a coach and if this guy was his pic as an OC he is probably pretty good in my opinion. I was never a fan of Harbaugh playing but I can't deny he can coach the hell out of a team..college or pro.

You want the best you pay for the best. It seems to me that Hart had his guy all along and he was just going through the motions trying to keep everything quiet so he could tell the fanbase, "Guys I did what I could." But he has now been caught by this man doing his job.

Hargis has balls. I hope everyone is listening to this. His credibility is impeccable. He stands 100% behind his source and article. He said he refuses to take one step backward on it. It's on Hart.

I have never seen anything like this on multiple levels. The Gruden camp, UT's camp, local media, national media........it is an absolute cluster ****. In the end, someone is going to take a hit.

And Hargis just painted a big ol' bullseye on Hart's chest.

Fantasy: Finally this joke is put to rest. I wish the same cast of goofy characters would quit calling into the talk shows with their under-researched opinions on why we need Jon Gruden. If we were going to pay someone big dollars to coach, we needed to get a guy with proven, big game college experience. Not a guy that has never been a coordinator or head coach that was fired in the NFL. Or won a superbowl with dungee's players. Granted NFL wins are much harder to attain than college wins, but there isn't any evidence that would make someone that does their research believe Gruden would do a stand up job. It's another crapshoot just like DD. All this talk is based on emotion because the guy was a grad assitant here at UT.

Reality: If you are going to pay the big $$ you have to go for the proven college 'head' coaches that can recruit and DEVELOP their players. Not an ESPN analyst. A coach that can take a 3 star guy and make him into a 4 star guy by developing his body and teaching him fundamentals he didn't get in high school. IE: Meyer, Tressel, Patterson, Petersen, or Stoops.

Business 101. Don't hire the guy (Dooley/Gruden) in the mail room that has no practical experience to take over the CEO's spot. Just because he looks good, sounds good, and is witty, doesn't mean he can get the job done. Hire the guy with the experience in your field that has been successful and has a track record of growing the business.

Now let's move on to a real college football coaching candidate.

MH

Dumbest post I have ever read and I have witnessed a Kentucky poster say he was valid victorian of his high school.

I think twitter is just messing up. I refreshed it one time and saw it but now I don't see it haha. But it is there...just doesn't come up all the time.

You have to click the ALL hyperlink just above the tweets..what you see currently are replied tweets or newer ones.

Wow, another poster with less than 25 posts telling the fanbase to "get over it". There are alot of those out today.

One day i'll get to 328 like you but i have to do it one post at a time so i thought "hey, why not just post a message telling the fanbase to get over it" but it never occured to me that because i dont have 328 posts no one would hear my voice... What a shame.
