Who cares what ESPN thinks. If they were in the business of reporting on rumors they would not have time for reporting on anything else. Maybe you should check TMZ?

Because something coming from ESPN would be along the lines of an official announcement. It would be no rumor, but rather fact

So I wake up to find a newspaper on doorstep this morning and wouldn't thing on the Friday before SECCG would find Gruden on the front page. Please calm down, this may not play out today like we want(or a month ago for most) but it will. Think what you want about about Hart but this has all played out like we have been told. This is this mans resume and not saying it won't go bad, but won't be for lack of effort. We can't guarantee someone else reaction. The offer is on table or has been for awhile. Money is not the issue( Gruden or asst.)

I'll say it again. They may get scooped on this at the end of the day, but they have the easiest access to Gruden for him to squash the rumors. Hasn't happened.

If they can't substantiate any rumor involving one of their network faces, they aren't going to run anything.

Basically, if it don't come straight from the UT AD or from the Gruden camp, it doesn't count in the eyes of ESPN, and those two sides ain't talking.

Yea me too. I think we may have thought we had him and he backed out at the last min. The locker room being set up for a press conference tells me that Hart thought we had a deal in place or at least very close. The only thing I keep coming back to is the number of times Saban said no. Still holding out some hope. :good!:

If this deal went south, it went south in the last 24-48 hours. Make no mistake, there had been an agreement that he would become the next HC. And so this is very strange considering how sure our camp was that all was finished but the dotted line.

I am grasping at hope here, but if he did leave us at the alter, my GUESS is that he got wind of an NFL opportunity he couldn't pass up. Maybe like a San Diego or something. It stretches reason for me to think they got to this point and couldnt agree on something like staff money, which they would have already discussed.

If we didn't get Gruden, we didn't get Gruden. We swung for the fences, had his attention, and he decided against it. We weren't immediately rejected like Arkansas. I find it hard to believe he would toy with the likes of Peyton and majors so if he says its a family reason, then I will respect that and move on.

However, this has been such a sh!tstorm tat until the dust settles and an official UT announcement is made (either to say grude isn't coming or announce the new coach), then I will hold out hope.
