Official Jon Gruden Thread XIII

So, I have been lurking in these threads since Official Thread X, and I finally signed up just to say that you guys are some of the most entertaining back and forth folks I've ever seen. I sure hope we get The Grud, but no matter what, I have had more fun and audible laughs from reading this post than anything I've read in a long time.

Welcome to the board!! Post often!! :hi:

I have a hard time also believing Gruden wouldn't want to answer to anyone or be monitored as far as Ncaa rules and other junk. I would assume the opposite in that he would want someone around often that would help keep it level, as we are on probation.
He can't be bossless. I've been skeptical that he would sign, and the ncaa rules thing as well as chasing 18 yr olds around, by a rulebook, to try to convince them to play would be a pain in the ass if you have been sitting in a booth and making 15 mil a year in total income.
jmo of course. I have no Gruden contacts, obviously.

You're being rational in a sea of irrationality. That's the way I see it too.

So first it was money, then control of the AD, now it's stating he wouldn't be comfortable in college like he would the NFL.

Excuse, after excuse, after excuse. None of them have stuck, yet every day, national/local media comes up with some new sticking point that Gruden is no longer in play, well after they spend a large portion of time saying he'd never be in play in the first place.

All the while, every leak that is reported lines up with what the OGs have said all along. Gruden and Hart (who aren't morons) haven't shot this down. The most "credible" voice to say anything on the matter Rick Venturi, who just so happens to be friends with Gruden, says that Gruden to UT is a very real possibility.

Tonight, the eve of the often quoted 11/30 date where every OG said things would look bleak so that Hart could appear to save the day, suddenly becomes bleak, with nothing of credible value sticking. We have multiple people shooting the rumors down, but none of them can confirm anything from Gruden, and the majority of them have shoddy at best track records. Again, Hart has nothing to say, and all evidence can't pry out a single interview/visit with any of the other people supposedly on our list.

The money, the Cindy angle, the Haslam/Peyton scenario - this has all been spelled out for us up to this point, damn near to a T. Why are so many suddenly claiming that the sky is falling when this exact scenario is exactly what so many folks have told us would happen from the getgo. It may not be tomorrow, and it may not be the weekend, but until Gruden himself directly shoots it down (when he's had ample time/opportunities to) or Hart says we've moved on, why in the world do so many people think this thing is dead?[/

Dood, he's not coming. End of story.

What he said was a legitimate explanation ..

From what I have seen of your posts and what I know personally about what Wes Rucker is like, you all have a lot is common...

1. Both of thrive on people not liking you.
2. Both of you are not Tennessee fan's.
3. Both of you have the same coaching list, and think UT is way to high on itself.

I think you are the same person...

Never put it together like that before! You may be on to something! If you wind up dead we will all know why!

I couldn't agree more with you!!! I like how everyone in the country puts words or thoughts in Gruden and Harts mouth and mind. And what did Gruden or Hart say? NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING!!! Wouldn't it be easier for these men to go public and set the public straight? Sure it would, why are they not? Because they are to busy hashing out a deal and watching all the experts (May-Rucker-etc.) do all the PR work for them. IT'S GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!! Never more sure of Our Orange Clad Knight Gruden Coming now. GO VOLS!!!

Was that not you on radio other day as guest?

As sad as it may seem, this whole "smokescreen" stuff so that "Hart can save the day" is silly. Has it occurred to many of you that if Gruden comes, the public will never be given all the details needed to give Hart all the credit and praise him? Since this search has been very secretive, the public wouldn't know that the boosters made it happen to begin with; therefore, this whole premise is ludicrous. JMO

Cut,
Sorry to ask as I missed something. You saying done as in signed or done as in move to #2?

I have heard for awhile that we were close, but it wasn't done.....

Then I heard about an hour ago that it was finally complete and he was coming......

lol... Of course that was right before everything went crazy with denials from Rucker and others.......

Let me throw a disclaimer in here though that my info could be wrong as it has never went exactly like the info other folks on here had...:hi:
