Let me start by saying I have been following and hoping this would all end with a Gruden hire. With that said if he is indeed hired then Dave Hart is in the wrong business! He should work for a spy orginaztion where these skills could be used! (Smokescreen, ,misdirection, cover ups etc..)not doubting anyone, just saying I would be in awe of this dudes intellect and foresight.

For what it's worth, the beating you are taking is unfair. From the jump, your source has clearly been different than Hyams. Therefore, people freaking out on you over Hyams comment is unfounded and unwarranted.

I am still all in. Until someone says otherwise, I think it is Gruden. I will support my alma mater either way, but this is the guy I want to see. To be shaken by the reports of two men is just unfathomable.

I take some shots at Hyams because he is not my favorite, but he is putting out the info from the people he has contacts with. You are doing the same.

This. I appreciate the forum and the folks I tend to follow a little more closely than others. So far, Boro (among a few others), have been pretty spot on with how I've seen things unravel. If someone has a problem about specific folks or those that pay attention when they post might want to prove info otherwise or take a nap cause the search is making them cranky.

Media pulls thia stuff all the time. Heck in Cincinnati, one of the largest talk radio personalities guaranteed Romney would win the election, the state of Ohio and Hamilton County (the county Cincy is in). I he was wrong he said he would resign. Well he was wrong on all 3....and is still on the air! The whole thing was a publicity and ratings stunt!

What's sad is that if UT's next coach is not Gruden then all these idiot fans won't give him a chance.

I'll tell you how I feel:

I have given up on UT Football for a while. The program has become an embarrassment on so many levels it is sickening:

We have held a permanent seat in the NCAA violations waiting room for the better part of the last 5 years in multiple sports.

Our 'student athletes' are collectively some of the worst students in the SEC.

Our athletic department is in financial disarray.

We identify as a 'football school', yet have held one of the worst programs in the SEC over the last 5 years.

Our last two head football coaches are two of the biggest jokes in college sports.

As silly as it sounds, I feel like all of this can simply be flushed down the toilet with the hiring of Gruden. Suddenly, I won't give a $h*t about the half decade of misery we've been through.

If we settle for yet another up-and-comer/unproven coach - I'll still love Tennessee. But it'll take some W's and some class off the field to get me back 100%.... or they can get Gruden and have me back more than ever on Day 1.

Call me a bad fan - but I'd put money that there are hundreds of thousands (if not Millions) of Vols who feel exactly the same.
