Hubbs:
"Meanwhile, the big orange cat with nine lives --- former Super Bowl-winning coach Jon Gruden --- continued to be a target of speculation for both the Vols' opening and expected NFL vacancies. Less than 24 hours after a Philadelphia outlet reported that Gruden had expressed mutual interest in the imminent vacancy atop the Eagles, where Gruden once was an assistant, a Memphis TV station --- WREG --- reported that UT had attempted to entice Gruden with an ownership stake in the Cleveland Browns, the NFL franchise purchased earlier this year by Knoxville magnate Jim Haslam.
However, multiple sources within the University of Tennessee campus told VolQuest.com on Tuesday that vice chancellor and director of athletics Dave Hart would take his search for Derek Dooley's replacement to New York on Sunday, where the Vols' interview team would pore over candidates almost certainly through next Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Hart could have finally taken to the air late Tuesday night to perhaps begin seeking closure in segments of the search, but that information was not verified at time of this story. UT has worked to block the flight tags on all of the planes that it regularly uses, be that the University aircraft or those of boosters."
