I don't know how it would be legal to offer him ownership in the browns? I remember the Knicks wanted to give lebron ownership in MSG and the NBA said no.

Why wouldn't it be? He owned a minority stake in the Steelers before buying the Browns.

I have a question about the ownership part. Would him owning part of a team (if it's during his time as the UT Coach), have any implications with the NCAA as a violation, since that's part of the NFL??

A bit of an overreaction.

Take it for face value! My son was being recruited by the former staff, and has been left in the dark, although only a sophomore. Not an over reaction, I'm tired of all the he said she said smart crap on this board! I think we ALL want Gruden, but people like u with ur smart comments, make me want to stay away! I'm passing along FREE INFO that I am trying to provide to fellow Vols! Like I said, as soon as I see it, I'll copy and paste. Just remember to eat ur crow if I do!

And I say I bid the farewell good sir!

I could see a conflict of interest for sure

Listen here u smart***!!! If u don't believe me, take ur cheap ass, buy a volquest subscription, and see so for urself!! I'm simply trying to relay info from TOS which obviously ur simple, welfare having carcuse, can't afford $10/month to subscribe to! If u don't believe me that's fine, but if u look, the guy right above me posted the SAME THING!!! So take ur cute little pic, save ur money that u don't spend on TOS, and get some meat on ur bones!! Pathetic!!! Y'all wonder y we're losing recruits, credibility, and everything else? Because "VFL" like u call urself are chasing everyone away!!!

Just a question. . When was the last game u actually attended, and STAYED for the WHOLE thing???

VFL my a**!!! More like DB for life!!!

Has any body seen this yet?
Knoxville, TN-News Channel 3 has learned former NFL coach Jon Gruden has a contract offer in hand from the University of Tennessee and a decision could be made as early as Wednesday. Part of the offer is Gruden getting a piece of the NFL’s Cleveland Browns, who were recently bought by Jim Haslam, one of UT’s biggest boosters who played on the Vols’ national championship teams in the early fifties. He’s also the father of Tennessee governor Bill Haslam. A potential hangup could be over money Gruden may be owed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from his stint as head coach there that ended in 2008. The NFL is looking into the conflict of owning part of one team while getting money from another. Gruden is currently working as an NFL analyst for ESPN. He started his coaching career in 1986 as a graduate assistant at Tennessee where he met his wife, a former UT cheerleader. Gruden’s two head coaching stints in the NFL were with Oakland and Tampa Bay. He coached the Bucs to a Super Bowl win in the 2002 season.

All of the negavols want sources and when a media outlet finally reports on Gruden to Tennessee, they still dont believe it. If Gruden is on the sideline next year, there will be some on here claiming he is still not coming to be our coach......:)
