Does anyone know what Hart is doing today? Is he still in Knoxville? If he is not on the road actively looking, it would seem that Dr. Punch is correct in stating that the hire has been made. That would make a Friday announcement seem logical.

I keep hearing before Dec 10th. Nobody is saying anything with merit today, regarding a coach Gruden or recruits, in the Gov office or anywhere else

Of course Friday is gaining traction--people desperate for news hear some tidbit that could be completely wrong but, since it's SOMETHING, the rumor spreads. And nowadays media people grab unsourced info from message boards and spread it, which is both stupid and unprofessional.

The week has begun, he was hanging out at the BB game. It's obvious the media is in the dark.

I would say you are probably right this board will explode the next few with more of the media chiming in on gruden especially if the university comes out in the next day or two and says that a presser has been scheduled for friday lets get Gruden.

I really can not say very much or I could possibly get fired. I can say they are all UT supporters, no media, and all go very high up. It will be discussed at lunch , I am sure of it. I will post what I can, but everything I have been hearing in the past week is very very good for the VOLS. I will try to bring it up at lunch , but if I get a bad look, I will drop it immediately. Got 45 mins or so till anything will be talked about. Just catching up on today

There is no "it." All of this is a ton of fun, but I think we all know in our hearts that it is about 95 percent total BS and the other 5 percent is tidbits of circumstantial evidence assembled with the glue of speculation.

The only muscle any public figure has over the media is the threat of non-cooperation in the future. Any member of the media has no more and no less right than any other citizen. Any information subject to disclosure by law, open press conferences and such can't be selectively withheld from a particular individual simply because he or she is un-liked by the figure or institution.

The idea that at least someone wouldn't risk his or her future chances of cooperation in order to break one of the biggest UT sports stories in recent memory is simply outrageous.

A player texted me saying they were printing Gruden nameplates in the office.

I really wish I had more credence in the Friday announcement, or felt more confident. I think Friday would be perect timing for several reasons. (1) Friday is sooner than Saturday, Sunday, and any day after. I am, and have been, on edge since DDD-Day (DD Dismissal). (2) Friday pushes it to the front of the cycle of the SECCG, so that in itself will be the biggest headline for the weekend. (3) Countless recruits of our rivals will no doubt be tuned in to the coverage of the game, and thusly, be saturated with Gruden info and ORANGE. And finally (4) steal some of the spectacle and press from Alabama and Georgia at a pinnacle day for each of them.

It's gotta be Gruden!!

It makes sense to me. When I say it sounds like the hire is made, I mean they have come to an agreement but paperwork may not be done. It would also seem to be perfect timing to make the biggest splash by upstaging the other games this weekend. I have no info, just logically thinking out loud.
