Golden will not be the coach hired!

Golden and attendance at the U are not correlated. Miami natives as a whole hate commuting an hour from the university on buses to the stadium. Second you are competing with the beach. People forget about the heat, and other things to do in Miami. The school is private with roughly 10,000 people, and most students could care less about football. Still don't think Golden is a great hire, but at the same time that doesn't exclude him as a bad coach.

So the stadium was empty when Miami was winning? I believe that the university was still private, they still have to commute to the stadium, it was somewhat hot in Miami, and the beach was ever present during those years.

What he did at temple was darn near a miracle. I would like to know more about the circumstances he has dealt with at Miami but my guess is he has some serious issues hindering him there.

I know how bad temple was, but going 9-3 in one of the weakest conferences isnt a miracle to me. Who did he beat? He would have been a better hire than dooley 3 years ago but i dont like his chances against the big boys in the sec.

Does it make any sense that ESPN/MNF would want a few weeks to transition from Gruden to Dilfer or whoever and that may be the big holdup? If we truly got him, I guess I can wait.

You guys can fill in the rest of the Coaches... Bring in a star studded cast to surround the HC... Only then can we win...

You guys know it and I know it.. You can bring in any Coach in the nation.. And he will NOT win without the best Coordinators.. Then bring the best recruits.. Now we are talking about winning...

General Neyland quoted that the Head Coach of any football team is only as good as his supporting cast and players... Come on folks, we are VFL.. and we are a family.. I don't really care who the next Head Coach is, but he had better have some good Coordinators or we will be right back here in three years just like today discussing the same ole same ole...

This is better than Golden.

You think that Jimmy was going to let Hart make him out to be the bad guy? That was a huge PR stunt by Cheek to play ball and act as if the two were working "hand in hand". Plus the arm twisting behind the shadows at UT's higher up. Cheek had to address Hart's statements after his Press conference. Giving money and acknowledging the problems and how they will be "fixed" definitely does that.

Somewhat. He beat out UF for big time CB and Safety, in Bush and Howard, but both were native Floridians. It's easier to recruit there than most places. We truly need someone who can reach coast to coast to recruit here.

I just wonder how well this Penn St grad will go over in living rooms and kitchens in the South.

I think many coaches would feel pressured to bail with that type of heat. Second year in a row they will not participate in a bowl, and at some level you have to think he can't produce an image he would be proud of. Look at Bill O'Brien, he is going back to the NFL.

At any rate, why is UT feeding so much Golden speculation? There must be something there.

his record is his resume regardless and it speaks the truth.just like dooleys record told the whole story before he coached his first game at Tn.
If Golden cant win at Miami or in the ACC then hes not going to win here or in the SEC

First of all they use to play at the Orange Bowl which is not the Sun Life stadium. The HEAT as a basketball team were not good, and the population diversity at the university has changed dramatically since the 80's.
