I said the same thing today at lunch. My take is ESPN knows.

I disagree... An announcement today, although would be a splash, would be old news on Saturday. Not saying it is what's happening, but you will have a lot of viewers Saturday, if it is fresh news it will be discussed in front of a huge audience, great for recruiting.

Agreed. By Saturday, other local news around the country could moved on. If announced Friday afternoon, it would be the lead on Gameday, huge story Friday and carry over the weekend, all the way through MNF (where MNF would have to announce Gruden not announcing). You do it now, has time to die down a bit. Plus, Friday would make for a REDICULOUS weekend in and around the VolNation...

Gruden will be announced 11/30 at an afternoon press conference in Knoxville. Will be discussed all throughout SEC Championship Game. Gruden may even be guest on air at the game in Atlanta.
