Don't know for sure. I have heard that Gruden requested a longer term. I find that to be comforting. I've said all along that he wants to be here, and personal reasons play a big part in that.

Agree a longer term may be important symbolically, but it's hard to say what it means without knowing the buyout schedule, which is what really matters. You could have a 20 year "term" but if the buyout is relatively low (or starts high but goes down to a much lower number after the first 3 or 4 years) it doesn't really matter. Just like all these NFL contracts for 10 years and a gazillion dollars-- the term and big total numbers are what get reported in the papers, but what really matters is how much of it is guaranteed. Beyond that the team can waive or cut you and quit paying you.
