I heard from people on here, Tues night I think, that I know are more hooked in than I, but this afternoon it was confirmed by someone that would definitely know. Jay can attest, he knows who it was. I think the agreement was reached Tuesday late afternoon or evening.

This is accurate according to my folks.

I was just wondering.. I had always heard that the goal was the week of the Vandy Game if a decision was made (for about a month)... Then about a week ago I heard the 14th would be the drop dead date as it would possibly impact other coaching positions....

Again not saying any of this is true...Just what I had heard for awhile now...:hi:

You don't think Gruden coming would change that?

Regardless, it might be better to start all over. Gruden would have us up and running and competing for championships in two years tops.

Peterman and Worley are worthy.

Peterman would probably be the guy, but Gruden will love Worley's work ethic...you know, if hired.

One day - in the not too distant future - Official Jon Gruden Thread will take over the world! muhahahahaha!

When it's public do you think they will move. This thread back to the main forum? I have gotten kind of used to it here.
Look out FF here come the Grudenites.

Read the cliff notes. I have to be honest...it was all I could do and contain my excitement long enough to not post in that thread and come over here. My thanks to all the insiders that have shared their info. That includes Littledto, OV74, Boro, Jay, Bcarter, and our cheerleaders Patti and Smokey. I sincerely hope I haven't left anyone out. They have given volnation hope during out darkest hour. While nothing is official it appears we have ourselves a real coach!

Most of us have been Vol fans to the core; especially over the last 3 years. That's not going to change no matter who the next coach is.

Guys, if you have been following this saga since Gruden I, you know that I have been saying Gruden coming to UT was a real possibility. I've been here for the highs and lows. I have been cautious- very cautious actually. I have very recently heard from several folks that I have been in contact with throughout this ordeal and others that have been getting information from different places. They have been scary accurate with what they have told me. I have complete trust in and respect for these individuals- great folks. They have been cautious as well. However, things have changed and for the better over the last two days. I got all that I needed, and in spite of my normal cautiousness, I'm with Lex, Boro, and all the other OG's that's gone all in:

WE GOT HIM!

I have nothing on a timeline. Not trying to be a jerk, but I don't care about a timeline. The most important item is that based on what I have been told, UT Football will soon have a man at the helm capable of resurrecting us from the ashes. It probably won't happen overnight, but we will shortly have someone worthy of our faith in the UT Football program. Before long, we will have a guy that is relentless in his pursuit of excellence. In summation, we will forthwith have a coach worthy of the title of Head Football Coach at The University of Tennesse. We have been down in the recent past- way down, but the worm is turning. The college football world (the SEC in particular) better prepare it's anus. Tennessee is coming back soon.....and hell's coming with us.

Haters, doubters, "real insiders", Dooley apologists, Duck Meat, or whoever, can keep on keeping on if that's your thing. I don't care what you think. Nothing can take away my immense joy at this moment because it would take a Myanesque apocalypse to prevent Jon Gruden from being the next head football coach at The University of Tennessee. As my dad used to say "If you're mad, might as well scratch your hind-end and get glad." It's done. Others can believe it or not. :hi:

Hey SEC......I'm your huckleberry!!

As constant reminders to the naysayers, Insider banners for Jay, boro, Carter, DTO, OV and whoever else as been calling this and not waivered. Kudos fellers, I love you :cray:

What do some of you expect out of gruden in his first and second years would it be fair to believe he could pull in 8 wins 1st yr and 8-9 w bowl 2nd yr please only give positive feedback I wanna see what some of you think they can accomplish in a short period time on ROCKY TOP.

First year is still gonna be tough, but if we have a senior QB, it will be a lot easier.

I think 8-9 wins including a bowl is attainable, but if they end up changing the system a lot, it may be tough. On the other hand, Gruden is an Effin coach so we may surprise a team or 2.
