No I understand that aspect. It is more the posting for a job that is already filled. No really kosher.

Yes. It is an unfortunate side of it.

To expound a little further, you can write the job description to match the resume of the person you want to hire so that you can justify the hire.

It sounds bad, I know, but that is not the norm. It is only done like that in extreme cases where the red tape is a barrier to hire a good applicant.

Boro, I am trying to figure out if my sources are close. The first text i got was the 14th saying not to get my hopes up but they think we got him.
The other text later in the week was the money was 4 million something not the amount i'm hearing on the boards. I guess my question is have you heard 4 million or so instead of the 6 million.

I am not an insider, but I was told the same thing....:hi:

I get it. Just wish there was a better way to handle it.

Agreed. The guy is the lowest of the low.

The Arky situation, the way he played Atlanta, and the underhanded way he treated Tubberville. Best of luck to whatever program gets that guy.

I am in the extreme minority with this one, but I like Petrino just based on his coaching ability. Not a great person, I admit...

Not sure if this was lost earlier, ignored, or if no one knew the answer....

Is there anyway to know if/when Gruden takes the NCAA recruiting exam?

I pulled that question and answer from the NCAA's website, so I make no assertions concerning it's accuracy.

Haha, well that is interesting... I am guessing they can't tell the Government (State Schools) what to do like the NFL can. The Teams themselves are for profit which may be what they are refering to.

Please be aware that at least two official interviews will be conducted with coaches not named Gruden.

Also there is a minimum time frame the job has to be open - something like 10 days or two weeks I think.

As a state run institution ut must follow certain guidelines.

With all that said, sit back and enjoy your thanksgiving.

Good news will be here soon enough.

Good stuff. But what I am wondering is how we were able to hire Dooley after the job had only been posted for 3 days?
I don't think this question has been answered - seems like SBV is saying to be patient because the job has to be posted/open for 10 days-2wks (or so). If that's the case how was Dooley hired in 3 days?
I was all-in but all the conversations by what I perceived to be insiders (as well as some I'm not sure about) reminds me A LOT of the way some guys talked back before Kiffin was hired - I got burned pretty bad back in that FlightAware thread or whatever it was called - I decided this time was different because of the level of detail provided early on, but some of tonight's comments sure have that same feel. (Not talking ab SBV but really stuff from a couple of hours ago).
