Thanks for all the info. Can't say I'm buying it yet. The numbers being thrown around are obscene. As much as these big booseters want to win, when does their business sense kick-in? Sure, IF Gruden is succesful, their investment puts the Athletic Department in great financial shape for decades to come. But, what if Gruden fails miserably? What if he can't relate to college players? What if he has constant conflict with administrators, players, etc. like he had with his GM and players in Tampa? Can you imagine the buy-out it would take to force him out? Bottom line - how many times are these high roller boosters willing to bail the University out? My guess is they are still so determined to win, that they still have immunity to their business sense. But I also suspect this one better work - because some of these sugar daddy's and their families won't suffer the same fate too many times before they become a bit more concerned about the security of their investment. I do hope the rumors are true, cause it would be nice for UT to be in control of the good news cycle for a change. But at the numbers being discussed its a huge gamble and it better pay off!
