It is, I acknowledged that in the last paragraph.

I also acknowledged that with key coaching changes pending in the SEC, those players could easily swap or defect (Don't think Gruden could pull who he wants?)

But my key point is that that bump in recruiting in the short term won't provide the sort of improvement that he has experienced the past few years. Granted, he has gotten much more from his talent that could have been expected, but his meteoric rise will flatten in the following years until his recruiting stays at the top 15 level for a sustained period.

I agree he hates UT.

He saw my UT tatoo and tried to hit me with his car. This was in 1997. I got some kids to roll his yard. Next, I was jogging down his street. I think he was sober this time and yell F UT. I caught up to him at East Cherry and he apologized, because he realized I was going to crush his face. More Higgins stories later. Wife walked in. I was 22 when I did this. I am not like that anymore

If he got 7-8 wins a season at Vandy, in 3 years they would erect a statue for him.

Oh, and the rumor around Nashville is that he turned Arkansas down because he thinks he can get a bigger job.

Shame when you think about it, because Arkansas fans think they can get a bigger coach.

Honestly...I'm getting sick of the James Franklin posts. Go post in HIS thread if you have a man-crush on him. He's an overrated crybaby who has won a few games against down SEC teams. Vandy will never be "Stanford East," regardless of recruiting class rank. And even if all those recruits qualify for admission, I can promise you not all of them will be able to make it until graduation. Vandy's Vandy. It will all come crashing down again in short order.

I don't think anybody is arguing that. I personally was just saying that I would rather clean toilets anywhere in Tennessee than to accept a job at the university of Arkansas.

Gruden would be a huge huge boon to Tennessee. Not only will Tenn fans love this guy but he has fans all over the place. He will have Tennessee being a household name again from day one.
