2 of those 3 games team quit, and when you get behind you have to throw more. I will give you a point for the FL game his play calling after the failed fake punt was just AWFUL

I kind of like Cheneys down field passing game. Some of the calls on 3rd have been horrible. Dooley had been such a trainwreck, makes me wonder if anyone could succeed working under him. Amazing he was head coach at a major university.

I also question Brays grasp of the offense. Cheney may have been very limited on play calling based on Brays ability. He has a canon arm but I have met him and he just doesn't come across as an OC's dream to put it nicely.

Very true. Some was play calling and some was having a QB that didnt have ice in his vein's. Damn I miss Casey C if for nothing else being that he was a QB that as fans you wantwd the ball in his hands and the opposing teams fans hated to see it. I know he has never played a down but think Peterman could be THAT next guy. Jmo

It was just something that I had wondered a while just thought I'd ask didn't know that all my fellow Vol fans were such jackasses and treat their own like a piece of ****.

I actually understand the question, here's the best answer I can come up with.

Tennessee fans have an abandonment/inferiority issues like no other.

When Peyton had his press conference and announced he was staying, he made such an impression on so many people he went to a different level in a lot of fans' minds. To say nothing of the way he represented the school in his 4 years. He was an extremely high profile player most of his time and people developed a strong attachment to him.

Tee is loved and respected, but I think people view him as more of a cog in the machine that was the 1998 team. He has nothing to be ashamed of.

Maybe I'm being unfair but with a couple of potential first round receivers and several future pro offensive linemen I just thought we should have been able to close the deal at least ONCE against an SEC opponent no matter how bad our defense was playing. UG, MSU, Missouri even Florida we had chances to really clamp down and we didn't.
