Exactly. The more his name is out there the better for him in his career. Either as a coach or broadcaster or advertiser

I have all the confidence and patience in the world man just enjoying the ride. But if something does not break the Suicide Hotline is going to have to put on more staff for some of the fans around here.

Personally I think Dooley gets fired the next time we lose. I would hope that Hart already has put feelers out for the next coach and realizes that it's gonna take big money to turn this program around. Also, Gruden will not be our coach!

I totally disagree with you here. If the AD had anyone competent in it, and Gruden had agreed to a deal in principle, they would fire Dooley and lock Gruden into a contract.

Why would we give him another couple months to get offers from NFL teams and change his mind? What do we stand to gain by postponing it?

If Gruden really is the next coach, then I think the delay in firing Dooley is either because his contract details are still being ironed out, or there is some serious support left for Dooley inside the AD.

Recall what? I've been saying this for 3 weeks, and have not wavered. I don't know if there is a signature yet, but the agreement is in place.

I know you're a detail guy and a sceptic, but outside of sources saying "He's coming", they don't tell us much else.

ESPN the sports authority is well known for breaking stories and stirring the pot. One of their very own (Gruden) is caught up in a very large scale rumor and not one time have they mentioned it or addressed it publicly with Gruden.

If I had one message I could relay to the Tennessee BOT's and the AD office, it would be to get into the college football business. If they want to remain a mediocre program, then keep hiring third rated coaches.

I know you are a 100per guy I just didn't recall if you had stated he has signed a MOU. Some on here have said that and I wondered if you were one.

This hire has more moving parts hiring extraneous details than hiring an unknown WAC coach.

At this point I really feel like one of two things are happening:

A. We are getting Gruden and Hart already knows it.

B. Dooley isn't getting fired unless he really tanks the rest of the season.

Letting Dooley coach out the rest of the season just doesn't make sense to me unless one of these scenarios is happening. If we don't have Gruden already on the hook then Dooley should have been gone last week so we could get a head start on the coaching search. Firing him after the season would be a terrible move in my opinion, unless you already know who his replacement is. If a change is going to be made and Gruden isn't a sure thing, then surely the change would have already been made. This gives me hope that all you guys are right and Gruden basically is a done deal. But it also inspires fear that we just might be keeping Dooley around.
