I always attack the weak side...but thats just me .. but at time i will load a unbalanced line to the weak side, and run play to strong side.. you just gotta set it up..

Depends on what defense you're facing. I love to attack weak side vs a 4-3, but you'd better pick your spots to attack weak side of a 4-4. You're outnumbered.

When I coached youth football we ran strong side the whole first half and then would run counters and reverses to weak side in second half.

With my minimal football knowledge it makes me furious to watch the mistakes UT makes.

Yessss...but, if you run it enough to the weakside and then pop it to the right side, backers are flowing to the strong side and DE, is sucked in.. its more than likely a big play..

I was basically our defensive coordinator assistant in high school when I played and I get so pissed when I see the horrible play we do. I see all these people not covering their gaps, not forcing plays inside, and just plain ****ty tackling. It's infuriating.

That was always my game plan to suck backside end down and get the corner on him.

It is amazing we make mistakes that 8-9 year old kids make. I am not sure what they are being taught during the week but a basic contain defense would have won us 2 ballgames this year.

Oh i totally agree. Scissors play works wonders too. And yes.. im hoarse by the end of a UT game... Id kill just to be able to call just one game with our line and our skill players..

If your LBs are reading their keys (flow to- attack direct/ flow away- take counter read step to check counter to prevent the sucking in) it doesn't matter. If my backside DEs ever gets sucked inside, he's getting a foot in his azz. Defense is all about playing your responsibility/gap. Do your job and trust your teammates to do theirs. If that doesn't happen, bad things happen to the guy that busted an assignment. They learn quickly....

One of the things that wears me out is our ones make the same mistake multiple times then the twos come In and do the same damn thing. It is like they are coached that way. I just don't get how we can be this bad.

I always taught my weak side end to go as deep as the ball and to follow the play. My weak side LB was to scrape across and not get sucked up inside.

Now this is true.. but how many times can you count on all 11 players to be doing their job right at the sametime. Like you you just said, it only takes one guy to not be doing their job.. you got to scheme and exploit that.. and I WILL find that guy guy and exploit that.. thats what a good OC does.. something Cheney hasnt done..

The e-mailings and other communications were a way of comparing information to see if the info matched up before posting potentially erroneous information. It did and was from different sources from multiple camps. I and the others do not get our jollies off by posting in an attempt to mislead in regards to the HFBCUTK. Some things are sacred.

Jay, sorry if this has already been asked, but...from what you & others know, what is the THING or PERSON that could kill this deal? Thx in advance.

Now add all that to what these guys get paid to coach and how do you feel?

I always ran a stacked 4-4.. so if my DE gets sucked in i got the outside LB and inside LB to contain, and clean up..
