My belief is he wants to be here for personal reasons, and may view this as his last coaching job. He is moving the family home.
I know the contract options are all lengthy, which is a good sign to me too.
If CJG comes here I will be extremely excited. But.... It does scare me a little if he brings in a new offense that has never been even tested to see if it works. Not saying it won't but come on it might be the highest paid contract ever for someone when the product they bring to the table is still in its testing phase.
IMO, the potential backlash of handling it with that rationale would be the next logical question: "Then why did you sign him to a contract duration without the intent of honoring that contract duration? If he's done all you expected of him so far, then why terminate him?"
I almost feel as though the correct avenue would be to respond something like: "CDD has worked very hard, and we thank him for the work that he's done in correcting the direction of the program so far. However, we feel that the product on the field has not improved to the level that we expected. So, we are going in a new direction. CDD is an exceptional guy. We have every expectation that he will be a success in his future endeavors."
What is attendance this weekend in your opinion. I am going to say the upper deck will be 1/4 full scattered and the lower bowl will be scattered a little towards the top, I say the tops is 75k, which is still pretty impressive if you really think about it.
You all are very optimistic about JG. I wish I could be......Would be awesome to see but I just dont think it will......
