Official Jon Gruden Thread IV

Well my depressed, fellow fan, Gruden wants to return to coaching, because he likes it. He would take 5-6 mil and would come back to coaching. Dooley's buyout and the first year of the new coach's salary is covered (as some have posted on here). He will keep at least one to three current assistants on staff and would save us more money.

Supposedly Dooley may work in the Browns organiztion to help offset the buyout as well, just speculation I heard on here. But it will all work out. Cheer up, better days ahead!

He also doesn't make as much at ESPN as is commonly thrown around.

Holly Anderson who writes at Sports Illustrated (and is a Tennessee fan) laughs at the entire Gruden to Tennessee idea. She called it a wankfest which is perpetuated through growing echo chambers like VolNation by people who are just like guys at strip clubs who believe the strippers really like them.

They don't? Damn.

Mine is no more credible than DTO's, Jay's, or OldVols. Two of us have info from the same source, but through different channels, and two of us have corroborating info from other viable sources. The beauty is, it all matches up. I would have never shared anything without some validation from other people.

Like I said..I found your posts to be more truthful than others and I don't know you...People like OCI "the copy and paste King" are just making up crap.

This happened 4 houses down from where I was at. I float fish this tidal creek in Cherry Grove area of North Myrtle Beach in a 14' jon.

He was talking with Saban.

Saban had to sit down.

It wasn't to get his opinion on the job. It was to tell him he's coming for him starting right now.

LOL, "midget boy" as one of our posters called him.

That is what I have noticed. Consistency and that combined with Basilio info which also backs up what you guys are saying

Basilio has known all of this for weeks. I talked to him at a remote broadcast between segments some time ago.

Who do you want as the head coach of UT?

I want Dooley to succeed.

I would give him the rest of this year and next to prove he can succeed.

The risk of changing now is too high.

Give Dooley some credit for the offense. It may be the best in the SEC.

I have no doubt that Tennessee is far better today than they were when Dooley took over.

The defense is awful!! It shouldn't be!! It is somewhat true that there are 10-15 big plays EVERY GAME that the defense gives up. The other 55-60 plays they play well enough to win most games.

So, I'm for giving Dooley the rest of this year and next to improve this defense.

I hate this record as bad as anyone.

Now, if they lose to any of their remaining 4 opponents I would probably change my mind.

Don't use any info that you get from Brian, his producer..he still thinks that Phil Fulmer is the coach.lol

He's an imbecile. It must take only one button to run things.

Monkeys have been trained that would perform that task to a higher standard.

I do not wish to start an argument here, seriously. But why would they not stand firm now? The backlash for backtracking (as I stated earlier) would be monumental, in that, it would most likely produce bans for these posters. If I was in their position, whether I was a true 'insider' or not, I wouldn't waver either. It would be a lose-lose.

FWIW, I was wrong in my posts last night about backtracking in regards to some posters in this thread, for that I apologize. I confused the general mood of this thread with what the posters (Jay, Boro, DTO, etc) had said. I'm still not convinced simply because of the many letdowns I have experienced as a Tennessee fan. Make no mistake, however, I would love Gruden to be our coach--just not sure yet.

Thanks for the apology. Appreciated, but not necessary. I do not begrudge anyone for their opinion. We believe what we think we should based on what we know.

Well tough Sh** its not happening...he hasnt beaten a ranked team in 3 years..Thats pathetic. Hell Rich Rodriguez has beaten 2 this year and his team sucks. Dooley blows and should GTFO!
