What are you guys smoking? Gruden ain't comin here. He is making maybe $4-5M on MNF just talking NFL football which is his expertise. It would take $7-8M to get him to even consider coming to UT or any college football job. It would take another $2-3M for his asst. coaches and another $9M to buy out the current staff. The change could easily mean $15-20M when all is said and done. I could be off a couple of million, but I just don't believe the program will cough up that kind of money.

If you guys want another "up and coming" mid major coach, just keep yelling for Dooley's head.

Sunshine pumper.

Life is too short for negavols

The collective gasp from these guys when the announcement is finally made is going to be breathtaking to behold.

Of course, it will have all just been a lucky guess.

So, Sunshine Pumpers are the new Negavols? What strange times we live in...

Well my depressed, fellow fan, Gruden wants to return to coaching, because he likes it. He would take 5-6 mil and would come back to coaching. Dooley's buyout and the first year of the new coach's salary is covered (as some have posted on here). He will keep at least one to three current assistants on staff and would save us more money.

Supposedly Dooley may work in the Browns organiztion to help offset the buyout as well, just speculation I heard on here. But it will all work out. Cheer up, better days ahead!

Is talking football his expertise or is coaching football his expertise?

Exactly. He is a football coach.

you presume to know quite a lot regarding Gruden's personal carrer choices. how about this. maybe the guy misses being down on the field, in battle. maybe he wants a new challenge in coaching football. maybe he is fully aware no school can afford to pay him 8 mil a year. maybe instead, he is seeking a long term contract at lesser money to insure his financial and career stability. are these ideas that far fetched?

My cynicism over the last few weeks has turned to optimism that this gets done.

Great to see the Bama nation starting to sweat a little. Sounds like others are starting to worry!

Had a bama fan the other day tell me he thought Dooley was a good coach, and I told him I though Shula was a good coach too! He dropped it,

Had one text me and ask me who are back up plans are. I said Saban 4 years 100 mil.

I said a couple of days ago that out of all these people claiming to have inside news on this that you seemed to have the most credible info....At this point thats like being the tallest midget...But I do hope you're right.

Mine is no more credible than DTO's, Jay's, or OldVols. Two of us have info from the same source, but through different channels, and two of us have corroborating info from other viable sources. The beauty is, it all matches up. I would have never shared anything without some validation from other people.

Holly Anderson who writes at Sports Illustrated (and is a Tennessee fan) laughs at the entire Gruden to Tennessee idea. She called it a wankfest which is perpetuated through growing echo chambers like VolNation by people who are just like guys at strip clubs who believe the strippers really like them.

When the results you are getting are not acceptable, sometimes the best thing to do is throw out what hasn't worked and regroup and start over. BTW I wouldn't call J. Gruden a "mid major coach", at least not in his presence. Could get ugly.........:eek:lol:

That is what I have noticed. Consistency and that combined with Basilio info which also backs up what you guys are saying
