Official Jon Gruden Thread IV

Figured we needed to start a new one.

I do ask to please stay on topic in this one. I know we are just waiting for news at this point, but keep the thread on Jon Gruden, or on the coaching search. This is not the Endzone. :)

So I'll start: Does Dooley get fired this week? And if so, when do you expect an announcement if we get Jon Gruden?

I don't know... but perhaps after next loss. If Jon Gruden were to be hired, I would expect announcement shortly after Dooley resignation/firing announcement.

Did you say you were a minister? Or is that someone else? I lost track.

Either way, the flock gets scared, they go to church, they get comforted and reassured that Jesus is coming...

Alot like going to church IMO....LOL.

Spoken like someone who knows little about church.

Yes I am. No, you are right, just saying it isnt only purpose of church but your point is well made, i should have just acknowledged it and not complicated it. My bad. :hi:

Except for the fact that he compared the church to scared children in bed and totally misrepresented its purpose.

No worries sir! Maybe I oversimplified it and wasnt too clear.

Yes. You did. But also true is the fact that there are no worries.

:hi:

Stupid post. 15 games over .500 over 11 seasons in the NFL is pretty impressive, actually, because it is a more level playing field than in college.

Your boy, Nickky, learned that the hard way. Now what was his pro record? And how many Super Bowls did he win?

Not a stupid post. But your reply is hollow and stupid.

Yes his overall record is 15 over .500. But his SuperBowl season is 11 of the 15 over .500.

His record doesn't give me this great fuzzy feeling that he is a sure fire winner. Especially the fact his record is in the National Felon League and not College. It takes a whole lot more ability as a coach in college than the pros.

Who do you want as the head coach of UT?

If that was the case, Saban would still be coaching the Dolphins.

Hey Bear Bryant,

You know what is awesome? This:

Hey, I know. By the way I've been a Tennessee fan all my life. I have blood relatives with their names on the Wall of Fame which is on the UT campus. 4 of them to be exact. My daughter graduated from UT in May 2010.

From West Tennessee.

I'm just wondering why so many of you Dooley haters think Gruden is such a surefire guaranteed success. His record doesn't give me that kind of confidence.

How would you know? You never coached in the NFL

I think most of us just know that he is not Derek Dooley. That is enough for me.

If we get Gruden, what if any effect do you think he could have on swaying Bray/Hunter/Patterson to stay at UT and not go to the NFL?

If they do go to the NFL, who would be next in line for Gruden to work with at those positions?
