We have some gullible people on this board.

Did you all honestly believe Dooley would be fired today and that Gruden would announce tonight on MNF? Wow, I have some real estate to sell those of you that did.

If we end up firing Dooley and hiring Gruden, it will be after the season. These idiots telling you they have inside info, have no clue. Stop freaking out because goobervol1978's prediction didn't come true.

It's the perception. Dooley needs to be gone yesterday to show the fans this university is serious about winning. Each day that goes by is another day other schools have to sway Gruden or whoever our top candidate would be. Claim all you want that Gruden is a done deal but the facts right now do not support that. He may have an agreement in place as has been said but if its a verbal agreement and we sit here and squander around like a fish out of water how long before another contract is in front of Gruden and its not from the Vols? Dooley needs to be publicly let go and we need to seal the deal with Gruden if it can indeed be sealed. If not move on to the next best option. Not bashing you or calling you out, I hope you are right. It's just Dooley can't be fired quick enough in my eyes.

Freakout seems wildly unnecessary.

I keep going back to the "let him twist, let him dangle" thing.

You gain nothing by axing him today, other than satisfying the emotions of a few.

I hope/I think UT is doing what several have insinuated- using people outside of Dave Hart and the AD to make connections and rough things in, offer-wise. I'd like to think its with Gruden, but I'm sure there are others involved.

I hope/I think UT is actually doing this like a big boy program for once.

I see absolutely no way he stays. They know the money pool is getting more shallow by the week, and continuing down this road only makes things worse.

My freakout will occur when things either officially stay the same, or we absolutely botch the hire (mid major risk, unproven OC/DC from college, etc).

I'm not saying you are completely wrong...I think on some level it would help morale.....

What we are seeing is the difference between Hart and Hamilton. Morale is just one missing piece to the puzzle. It feels like everything when the rest of the SEC is kicking your teeth in....but it is not. Got to think BIG picture here.

Why believe anyone? Seriously we have a very gullible fan base. I wabt Dooley gone, but that won't happen unless he loses 1 of the last 4 imo.

I don't want to see improvement. We are beyond that. I want to see a turnaround. Dooley hasn't provided that. All the other teams we play improve too. The no U-turn sign has been posted the remainder of the season given who we play. Next season is his next chance to turn things around and he hasn't deserved the shot to do it imo.
