Why Jon Gruden Didn't Work Out in Tampa Bay - Bucs Nation

I think Gruden would be a great hire for name recognition alone and the time away from coaching has probably helped rekindle a fire in him. You should read this. Although I like how you choose to ignore what he did in Philidelphia and Oakland just because kids were young. Good coaches don't just forget how to do their job, he kinda got bent over by Tampa's management of players as well as other things.

While you are at it, you should have left out how Tampa gave up 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders to get Gruden. Also how Mckay was the GM for the first few years and he was only good at drafting, but was horrible at picking up and keeping free agents (having watched the same trend with him when he was at ATL). Wait, you did.

You don't just get to use statistics that work for your point. Oakland counts because it is well known Gruden had a huge part of turning them from 4-12 to 8-8 in 1 season, then to 12-4 and what should have been AFC champions in 01 if it wasn't for the refs F'up. A lot of factors went in to Tampa sucking.

I go to bed last night with everyone talking about Dooley will most likely be fired tomorrow @ noon, and I wake up to some duck guy claiming there's a 95% chance Gruden goes to Arkansas ...

So the duck hijacks the thread after 1 am and is 95% sure Gruden is going to Arkansas. He has sources inside Grudens "camp" and he owns two businesses and he still has time to troll a rival message board. He sounds legit to me.

His first opportunity at coaching started here
The Grudens own land here
The Grudens were spotted on Douglas lake numerous times over the summer.
Jon would have complete control over the footbal program like Saban has

It was quiet in the office... a little too quiet. I got into the office early, trying to get my week in order. It had been a brutal week the week before.

Then she walked in. Poor thing didn't even have an umbrella, looked pitiful, soaking wet.

She had on a hat that matched her raincoat. The brim was firm to keep the rain off her face. She pulled it tight and low, but I could still see the bruises on her face. She had a black eye.

"Yes ma'am, can I help you?", I asked as I shuffled for a pack of cigarettes.

"My name is Volunteer Pride... I... I need your help."

I sighed.

"Oh I know who you are. Don't worry, he can't hurt you anymore."

Oh and he'll be in Nashville today with his wife recording a cd. Not sure but I believer in the music biz they record albums. Maybe he picked his old lady up outta the American Idol losers and a cd is the best she can do. Anyway, Gruden to R-Kansas. A damn duck called it tifwiw!

If I read correctly I think he even claimed Gruden was hired in April by Arkansas.

This idiot is the second "Ignore" on my list. I went tobed early last night and it's taken way too long to catch up just because of his and Machina's post wanting nothing more than to argue. It's easier to filter through the msgs. if the rest of our posters would just ignore what they say and not respond to them. That's what they want. Don't give them the respect of an answer.

Didn't you read what he said? Gruden was hired back in April by Arkansas, and he got that from a guy in the Gruden camp. It's official man ... Dudes a complete tool, and I for one can't wait until he's gone.

So, riddle me this. How, given "Tampa's management of players", was Monte Kiffin able to keep a top ten defense on the field, a defense that kept Gru-bage's half-added offense in games?? Oh, wait, that doesn't coincide with the "Gruden is the second coming" train of thought that's so prevalent on this site.
