lol the silence cant be considered a good things. false rumors die and go away.
Just reading the last few pages to catch up, it seems nobody is so sure anymore.
Are the insiders still staying with their story or have they changed course?

I understand that we have to take the "insiders" at their word, and that's a gamble. However, quite a few keep scoffing simply because media members keep refuting the Gruden to UT deal. Even if it's true and they're aware of it, it's not like they can report on it yet. The AD is their lifeblood; it provides them with the info they need to sustain their publications/websites/etc. and their jobs. Report it now, and the AD will cut them off.
Anyhow, I'm not saying it's a done deal. I don't know either. What I am saying though is that the silence is not as bad as it may seem, especially if the reports from yesterday are relatively accurate.

Speaking as a journalist, you're just flat out wrong about that. If anyone in the media had news this big with the potential to break this story, they would do it. Without hesitation. It would be the story of their lives and there's no way they would sit on it. If they had the information they would be reporting it because it would be their big break. It would basically be like hitting the lottery.

Wow ... had me worried for a minute there
As a journalist, would you break the story at the cost of alienating yourself from the AD and the coaching staff about to take the helm?
I ask because some believe that journalists, not counting the ones completely in the dark, are holding off until certain things are finalized, ex. Dooley formally let go/step down. Not saying that's the case just that it has been thrown out there.
I feel like a native American and the football forum came over here like the Magna Carta. Us Gruds need to sign no agreements.
I'm an OG, I've wanted Gruden for the past three coaching searches. I've been in this thread non stop since the first post of thread one, and no disrespect to anyone who has heard differently but skeeter says no body within the AD has even mentioned Gruden, and that if a deal is in place, Hart is the only person within the AD that knows about it. I trust skeeter over everyone on this board, it is apparent to me that he KNOWS. He has a proven track record, one that I can't ignore. I think Dooley is done, but in no way do I believe that a deal with Gruden is done. I hope by all accounts that I am wrong, but I just don't see how that is plausible right now.
