Let’s see what today brings and remember to keep it classy. There will be lots of trolls but let’s not turn against each other. If this thread moves, as I hope it does, I would hope all would feel welcome to join. It’s been a fun ride.

He has some positives, there are some question marks for sure. Winning and looking like a real football team will be the key. The eye test will tell all. As far as being a bama guy, so was Cutcliffe before he became a Vol. If he wins the fan base will take him in with open arms, some Bama fans are already trashing him on boards. But almost all did not want him to leave and said it was only a matter of time he got a HC job. They fear his recruiting and say he knows his defense. I think we will have a good defense in short order. The key is him getting a well rounded very good staff. He is young and hungry and he isn't into cliché's, he ia ALPHA all the way. For that I am greatful. Time will tell, it's a short leash with fans if he wins they will flock to him. Winning cures all things. :rock:

We don't have the personnel to run the defense that he has coached and his reputation as an elite recruiter was developed at schools where I could sign five star prospects. I think we got a blank slate. Other than the Bammer background, there is nothing to criticize. Wanted a home run. Probably got a stand-up double.

This will be my last post on VolNation for a while. Here are my thoughts:

1) Nothing against Gruden as a coach (and I wanted him at UT), but he played the admin/boosters and should never be contacted for the position ever again.

2) I have reservations about Pruitt (Bammer, trouble with “ladies”, & unproven as HC).

3) That being said, I hope that he is the right call & will take UT back to the top.

I’m out. Call me when we start winning again.

That is interesting. Reports are only that they’re supposedly working through details and he’s expected to be the new coach. There’s still a shimmer of hope.

I get that the assistants are technically employees of UT, but it seems like sending them out to recruit at this stage could do more harm than good.

Seems strange to me that nothing has been made official as yet about the announcement. Is that a tiny reason to be optimistic?

I’m the weird one? Ok Mr. cryptic, with your “sources” lol. Disappears until an announcement then comes back to complain. Why do you all feel the need to complain so much? It takes alot more energy to be so negative, fyi.
