I’m sorry, I must’ve missed the announcement of Pruitt. Oh that’s right, there hasn’t been one. It’s Gruden til it ain’t. Sooooooooon.

He doesn't owe anybody anything because it wasn't his fault; he can't control what adults do and what wild delusions they run away with.
THIS all day. Gruden was sitting there minding his own business through the whole time. He did nothing to display interest in the UT job this go round. We had people that were taken advantage of believing the BS due to their personal characteristics. Those taking advantage do not have consciences to feel guilty about what they did. The entire Gruden thing from start to finish was a complete falsehood. That some are raw I can’t blame them. That some still believe pieces and parts of the hoax, who do you think finances those elaborate flipping house schemes on tv commercials? It’s people like you, wise up, but stats say you won’t, statistics indicate you will fall for ruses your entire life.

My last post in the Gruden thread (I am moving on to the Neyland thread to stay in contact with this wonderful community).

Really appreciate the welcome to join you all as a johnny-come-lately. This thread, this group of people, represents the best of VolNation.com, what it can aspire to, what all of it should be. Great people, getting together to enjoy talking Tennessee football. I so appreciate that you're here.

As for Gruden, well. Let's just leave him aside. And for all the "insiders" who were really just trolls or attention-needing fibbers (and you all know who you are...most of us do, too), I feel bad for you and hope you grow up soon. Doesn't help that some of you are supposedly mature adults already; you still need to grow up, don't you? Here's hoping you will.

The real heroes of this thread series are folks like Sara and SFD and Suave, Behr and Boro, Grand, Rev, Preacher, Volly, Exile (both of them), Arya, DTO, AV, MaTaLa, ... well too many to name. I didn't forget you, I just got lazy and stopped typing before I got to you. All my fault.

Okay, that's it for me and threads named Gruden. I look forward to seeing many of you in threads named Neyland. Go Vols!

Remember that old joke?

"What's the dirtiest thing ever said on TV?"

"Ward, u were a little too hard on the Beaver last night."

Anyone wants to bash me...go ahead. I agree with everything MIT said. I love our program this a better hire than Currie would have given, but he's a ****ing bammer.

Then...

GTFO

"F' 'em all", Knuck. Ain't nothing to bash without being ignorant of the facts but you know that.

Been a pleasure, :good!:

I just can't for the life of me see how this is a "#cometogether" hire.....

It's not. Not in any way, shape, or form. Nothing will bring us together short of a fantastic season in 2018. Thousands of fans are now in a "wait and see what happens" mode. Most can eventually be won back over, but it will take time and wins.

I think it's more of a "we've fallen into a pile of waste and need someone with Crimson Blood to save us" type of hire.
Pruitt might end up being better than anyone thinks, idk, but the whole thing reeks to high heaven.

I'm just pissed but when/if it's announced I'll get over it and cheer on the Vols, at some point.

GBO!!!

Bottom line is, even if Pruitt wants to eventually be the coach at Bama, he'll need to succeed here. So if that drives him and it gets us winning again, I'm all for it.

He's not going to sabotage his career just to put us in the cellar.

I guess I just have more time to devote to Preds now....I work at Vandy a lot, they keep trying to give me Vandy swag. I can just go root for them and be happy with a bowl game appearance every year there too...

For the record, I am not the least bit angry toward the people who brought the information to these threads. My anger is aimed at myself for buying into the fantasy that those in charge actually were serious about competing for championships and righting the ship.

In the words of Edgar Allan Poe, nevermore.

I will continue to love the Vols to the same extent that Pruitt continues to love Bama. There is no way to ever move beyond the love for the team that's in your blood from birth through college and into adulthood. I will now support GA Tech to the same extent that Pruitt supports TN. I will always be a Vol at my core the same as Pruitt will always be a bammer at his core. I hope to one day be able to once again show my love for the Vols, just as one day Pruitt hopes and prays to be able to return to the tide where his true love and passion lies.

This has been a great ride folks. This thread has been amazing and hopefully we can keep it going throughout next year.
Cheers to all and keep on believing in greatness for our beloved university.
