Yeah, big difference between Cut and Pruitt's path to UT. Pruitt may improve us and I hope he does however having a dyed in the wool bammer coming in to "try to save" us sticks in my craw.

There's is so much wrong with the way things played out but I think the biggest overall disappointment in this is my image of PM has taken a huge hit. I'm still withholding final judgment till more smoke clears but it doesn't look good and got dayum I hate it, hate it.

I hate I disappeared the way I did, but that email I received prompted a phone call with some personal bad news. I left that comment here between reading her email and waiting for her to return my voice mail. She called right after I posted. Anyway, I wasnt in the mood to participate after the call.

Disappointed in this hire.

You didn't want Gruden, fine. You think it was a pipe dream, fine. You wanted Gruden, fine. These are all individual opinions.

What isn't fine is the fanbase that enjoys ridiculing and making fun of those who wished for something better. It goes against everything a Vol should be.

So, maybe instead of hoping "these fans" disappear and getting enjoyment out of the idea that Gruden was, or is, or a never was going to happen, take some pride in being a vol and offer up a "it was a dream that didn't happen", rather than taking the people who had a dream about UT being great and demonizing them for having this belief.

I await what will happen, and will make judgement in a few years as to how this hire goes and hope it works out and we win and win a lot. Do you chastise me for this belief, if not, then don't lay it on the people who were on the Gruden train. Just one guy's opinion.

Well said. Gruden was the face of it,but my dream was my alma mater would be willing to open the checkbook !& make a commitment to big-time CFB similar to what A&M did. Maybe Pruitt can get us there, but you sure can't put this hire on the "wow" level. Sad, but not unexpected, the number of posters who take joy in being jerks to fellow fans.

Apparently Manning is a HASLAM c**k sucker too trying to become an owner in the NFL and steered the ship away from Gruden once again....FYI it tears my heart out if this is true, but you can't deny Peytons involvement here.

All the fire and brimstone this morning....at the end of the day no matter who the hire is or was it all comes down to winning...we just finished 4-8...we needed excitement to carry is to soring ball...if he wins, we will love him,if he don't we will run him off. Reality of it all is...winning cures everything We shall see ....

It's not like we have another choice. I heard the same comments with Kiffen, Dooley, and Jones.

I'll always be UT at my core, but I'm now a fan from a distance. Go Jackets.

This is just me but I am pretty much done with Tenn football. We are now 3rd best team in the state and this hire isn't going to change that fact.

Should have gotten over their butt hurt and hired Kiffin once our number 1 was gone. Don't care about spring practice at all or any reports on how they're doing. Next year when we are 2 and 5 through the first half, it's going to be ugly..

Upside is I am going to have a lot of free time on my hands!!

In the end what happened with Gruden is really pretty simple He never could convince himself that he wanted to coach college football Tennessee is the only college job he would ever even entertain
At the end of the day he decided that if he was going to coach again it would be in the NFL At some point I expect him to to make this known and frankly to publicly support coach fulmer coach Pruitt and the incoming staff and team.
