Good grief. Wake up to see it wasn’t a bad dream I was having about Pruitt being head coach. Read ESPN article about how one of the big things is the way he connects with the players. Go to Twitter to already see one of his recruits say no love lost and another one saying good riddance.

Cue up the fat lady, remember that we will be back in these forums shortly and that until somebody also puts Sexton in a corner we are destined to get who’s next. Least he could’ve done was to get Tee in the deal but sounds like that is FUBAR’d as well now.

There’s a reason why the best deal didn’t get done and if it isn’t this time then I’m afraid this Whale is one we will never have the opportunity to see again.

Will be 2 years then Belk Bowl. We are building something then another blow out by Bama Ga and football hits upright loss to FL Gameday boneheaded management to losses of depth music city Bowl year then 5-7 rumbles for Head ... 4-8 fired roller coaster. Not going to attach my money to this. Can not support .

You just said it yourself, a dumpster fire. Yet, you are ok with the dumpster fire that exists and then ok with how the fire was "salvaged".

I wanted to know we were aiming for more, tired of being irrelevant, and tired of being average.

Oh well, not Gruden, I can live with that. What I will not live with is what I haven't for close to 15 years, that UT is a middle of the road to lesser college education that it used to be. 103 rd nationally, 104 in best values, 106 high school counselor rating, 46 in public schools.

They have consistently raised tuition and seen no upward movement. The Bump over the last 2 years is a joke that they love to throw their hat on like some kind of accomplishment.

I am impartial to Pruitt, because I really don't care until we have a proven upward moving program and it will be 3 years before that judgement can be made.

So, once again, Northwestern and Kellogg School thanks the University of Tennessee for being a bunch of gumps and happy to be middle of the road and average tier dwellers who are CONTENT and OK with being just that.

Guess we will see in a few years.

Right but it goes back to before the press conference about Currie. Was not listed on the scheduled events. Important events should be added at same time the press is notified or shortly thereafter.

Ughh...they are discussing it on the Golic and Wingo show. I'm going to watch and see what recruits do and say.

Not really on board with what's reported to happen. I'll keep one leg inside the boat until I see whether this person demonstrates that he can be loyal to UTK by not coaching Bama's post season, bringing a couple of decent Bama commits with him, and busting his butt to get Mayes and others back on board. Also, want to see the staff as I begrudgingly did USC East but I am not going to do Bama Light.

Nothing wrong with being cautious. We should know pretty soon about his staff and how recruiting is going to go. Good initial indicators how things will workout. Of course none of this is official yet. Not the hire so many wanted but it may be the one we get

If he were to have success in a couple years, I wonder if he will stay or jet , this is why we wanted Tennessee blood.

Tennessee Administration has proven toxic for over a decade. I'm purging toxic relationships from my life.

Good luck Vols. Really hope this works out but could not be more disappointed and I feel like we will never ever get the real story on what actually happened.

I'm sorry how can he do his job and do what needs to be done to help UT? We need these next 6 weeks badly, and him working on game planning and bama's game will be the priority. So, we at UT dug our grave and have to accept what is best on his terms, not ours? Apparently so.

I withhold judgement until the time comes, but, right now, I don't like the optics.

I’m a little disappointed it’s not Gruden, but I think Pruitt is a good choice. I’m coming around. As many of you know, my husband is a Bama alum. He’s in LA for work and He called me last night to say Pruitt is a he!! Of a coach. And my bammer friends from high school have left hate messages for me on FB. They mad. And that must mean good things.

Let’s see what today brings and remember to keep it classy. There will be lots of trolls but let’s not turn against each other. If this thread moves, as I hope it does, I would hope all would feel welcome to join. It’s been a fun ride.

If true, this is a huge shift for UT away from relativity. There are so many reasons this hire is wrong. Side note, if you have to ask what they are, you wouldn't understand if I told you.

  • Disappointed about Tee, and nervous about the OC
  • Excited for our defense!
  • For those stuck on “we hired a Bammer”, if you’re right, he’ll bolt when Saban retires
  • Although he sounds like a jerk, at least he won’t be scheming to be head coach, right?
  • Recruit, recruit, recruit!

This is our team. He has been appointed to manage it, but this is OUR TEAM! :rock:
