You said it was never about Gruden earlier but now want to face that music?

You said your groups mission was to change the guard at Tennessee.

Then why in the ever loving fudge did we hire a guy represented by Sexton? Sexton and Haslam putbus here.

I thought your group changed that? I thought Fulmer was that answer?

Well, it looks like your group failed with Gruden and changing the guard. All it did was change the name of the AD.

Quit giving him a hard time, it's over, deal with it and move on. Not too many people would stay in here "to face the music" when he could have easy turned off his phone. Enough, he has been through enough of this. Yes, I know, about the uplifting stuff that he has been posting, so what? Doesn't change anything in our lives. We may not be exactly happy at outcome, but we still get up in the morning, work, provide for our families, and hopefully still put on the orange and white on game day and show everyone we are different and better.

Good grief. This is why our fan base gets made fun of. Prime example.

I know and have been made fun of alot since the mid 60's and Dickey. I remember the fury when he went back to Fla. and Battles main job was to beat Fla that first year and he did. I remember the moving Van. I was there when Johnnie came marching home and it was three or four years before we got to go to a bowl.....The Garden State Bowl. I watched use being laughed at at the Sugar Bowl against Miami before we whipped their ass. I watched as Fulmer took over control from Majors and we were laughed at. I was laughed at when our poor Vols played the Heisman and Outland trophy winning OSU team that we beat and then I was laughed at before we won the first BCS against the mighty FSU team.

Yes I have been laughed at alot. Did I mention the Trailor Park Frenzy, Kiffin leaving in the middle of the night, Dooley and then let me check my coaching sheet champion for life Jones.

I was recruited to play at UT in the late 70's and due to youth and poor choices I didn't go and I was laughed at about that as well. It is all part of it and to this day I would give just about anything to run through that T just one time.

That is what being a Vol fan is. So when you move out of your moms basement and experiance life you'll find you will get laughed at alot but if you ever quit you will never know how much better the ups are after you have been down.

Pay Attention and learn.

GO BIG ORANGE

It's not about Gruden. There were many other choices we could have made that I would have supported. I cannot get behind a life long Bammer w/ no HC experience at this point in our history, with the state of the program, and hired by the all-time King Bama Hater.

I love this University and this program, which is exactly why I cannot support it being mismanaged to the extent it has been.

I don't question anyone's fandom for supporting the hire I disagree with, and ask that they don't question mine because they see it differently.

Doesn't the fact that the "all-time King Bama Hater" hired him tell you maybe he did it because it is the actual best he felt could do at this point in the search?

Absolutely! VA Kitchen and something rocking at 930 Club! Oh...does DC101 still do the Chili cook off in the summer? That is sometimes a blast.

I think they do. Sounds a familiar. But I’ve never been though. So many events, I can’t keep up. Summer is chock full of awesome to do. That’s one thing I love about it here! Just don’t get the chance to do as much as I’d like. Adulting sucks. Lol.
Are you in K-town now?

Apparently we had the deal done and while the paperwork was being finalized Corona came back with a counter offer of all you can drink for life. Put them over the top.

I get it I’m a life long vol fan always will be & tbh idgaf what no other fan or even our own thinks or wants to laugh but I’m dam tired of us kicking our own self in the nuts (program wise) it’s like we don’t have enough sense to pull ourselves out of this mediocre hell.

I get it. I’m excited for a new beginning. And at least it’s not a unqualified socially awkward trumpet player walking our hallowed sidelines.

It's fine to be excited, but these jerks coming in gloating need a tune up.. in the worst way.

Tbh, I'm not sure how to feel about the hire yet. I got enough real world crap going on to put much thought into it right now.

But to hold any bad feelings over message board info is childish.

If you are the only one that you need to be upset with is yourself.

To me the info and insiders made it fun, broke up the monotony.

Yes, West Knox. DC is loaded with stuff to do for sure. If I make it up, you can pick a show. I would LOVE to just hit the metro and see a show.

I would like to cordially invite the Gruden Thread Alumni to spend their unused Saturdays next year tailgating and watching 'Boro Junior lead the Maryville College Fighting Scots to victory.

It's been fun folks. Like I've said many times, it didn't have to be Gruden, but they needed to try. This hire doesn't do it for me, so there is no need for me to be invested. I have other things that matter.

All the best!
What a terrible "fan"

No.

This was a Sexton/ Haslam orchestrated hire, and a continuation of our mediocrity.

If it's the best he could do, obviously the wrong individual was in charge of the search.

Again...my opinion. I own it, and don't need it validated, accepted, or shared by anyone else else. You are welcome to yours without me trying to change it.

Yet another day we will look back upon and shake our heads after paying yet another buyout because the powers that be just won't go big....

Tennessee fans have been bent over and screwed AGAIN !

anyone who accepts this and spends one more dime deserves all the bullsh*t that just got dumped on the fans.

Fulmer is a traitor...another Haslam puppet.

Pruitt is going to be a great hire. We will have a top 5 defense every year once right players get in system. I'm anxious to see offensive staff and hope we can finally get away from zone read garbage.

Boro, I have always enjoyed your posts and respected your level headed outlook. I agree with you 100% about the bama hater hiring a life long bammer. As one that has spent a small fortune on UT tickets, that hurts. But if Pruitt is very successful here and embraces all things orange, can that change your opinion of him (Pruitt)?

Sweet. I’m always looking for friends who enjoy live music & a good show! You are most likely better with downtown & the metro than myself... But a good show for sure!
I get back to K-town in the summers. Pretty good music there as well!

Understood. I think what you say is possible but I think it's a leap to think Phil would still put being buddies with Haslam over the success of Tennessee football and his own success. I hope you're wrong. And I have a sneaking suspicion you will be back if we start winning games.
