I never thought Gruden was coming from day 1. I felt he trolled the fan base once again. 2012 all over again. Dont see how anybody can support him anymore.

No. This is why:

We changed AD, from everyone that’s reported on it, because Currie was being led by Haslam and told what to do(Greg Schiano). That started the slide.

So we change AD’s because we want someone who won’t listen Haslam and provide stability.

What do we do? We go and hire Pruitt who is represented by Sexton. Sexton and Haslam have steered this ship for nearly a decade and put us here. We still hire a guy represented by Sexton which keeps Haslam in the fold.

Peyton likes the hire. Peyton plays along with Haslam and Sexton bc he’s going to have a role with the Browns or as Haslam has promised, help Peyton and family become owners of a team.

It’s not about Pruitt as much as it is still being led by the same people who put us in this situation and that’s something that none of you who are chastising the ones that wanted Gruden, think about.

Gruden represented a changing of the guard. No Sexton. No Haslam. No problems.

Now we have the same problems that we have had for a decade. Ya, throw a party and jump up and down.

I’ll see you in 3 years. Hopefully Haslam will be in prison by then.

So I’ve been in this thread since the debacle against UGA when it became painfully apparent that we would be hiring a new coach at the end of the year. I was Gruden all the way. I hung on every nugget, post by Beaver, insider info, all that.

It’s obvious to me now that Gruden just doesn’t want to coach here. We offered the man more than $10 million a year to coach at a place he’s called his dream job and supposedly loves. For some reason, he didn’t want it. As far as I’m concerned, he shouldn’t even be mentioned in any coaching search we have in the future. He had his chance.

As for Pruitt, I admit he’s disappointing considering the high hopes we had when the search began. But put it in context. We got blindsided by the Greg Schiano hire that almost was. We fought back as fans to nix that hire and get Coach Fulmer in as AD over the Haslams’ objections. Now we have a head coach who is perhaps the best defensive coordinator in the country. Considering where we came from, that’s not too bad.

There’s a lot of work left to be done. Coach Pruitt will have to prove himself to us. If he can’t do the job, we’ll be back here in four years or so. But I truly believe we’ve taken steps as a program that will pay dividends in the future. Give the man a chance. Maybe he’s the next Dabo Swinney. Maybe he’s not. Regardless, this program is bigger than any one man or any group of people. We’ve proven how powerful we can be when we come together.

Let’s come together now and support our players and Coach Pruitt. Through it all, we’re Volunteers. Go Vols.

I have reservations for sure but come on. One coach has had success at the highest levels imaginable. The other... Well we know the story.

It is what it is but he's better than Butch and always has been.

if somebody has to google Jeremy Pruitt they obviously don't follow college football. Not my first pick, but somebody would have to have just crawled out from under a rock to claim to be a knowlegeable CFB fan and need to google Pruitt.

If its CJP im gonna wish him luck.

Even though im pissed if i dont get Gruden or Peterson, UT is my love. Our kids deserve a good experience. Especially after this turd soup we have been floating in this season and since, the kids that stuck it out and commit to UT deserve a chance at greatness.

Ive fought to keep a guy tied to child sex out of UT and to make sure some google name coach dont get the job but as long as CJP or better steps behind the podium ill quietly wipe my tears and hope the best for all of us.

Heres to hopes of better days and that we will get to keep these cool threads going fo ev uh!
