Ok, question for those in South Knox/ Northern Blount County in the '70's and '80's:

There was a non-chain burger place out by the airport on Old Maryville Pike, except that out there I think it was Old Knoxville Hwy?? Anyway, not on All-Kill-Ya Hwy, or at least I don't believe so.

It had amazing burgers that actually had flavor, and it began with what I call a Scrabble letter: Q, X, Y, or Z.

Xeno's? Completely making things up here in terms of names, but it was amazing. Went out of business.

Edit to add: maybe it WAS on Alcoa/ Airport Hwy. I don't think so, because it was sort of sleepy and slow, but Murrville Pike doesn't really feel right, either.

Edit yet again: it was GLCO's, pronounced Glico's. I'm starting to think that it was on Alcoa Hwy, or just off. Thanks to GBO25, VolInNorthCack (me, too!), and Sona. :hi:

Been developing for a while, just been too drunk to acknowledge it. I've got an unresolved guilt complex about loving anyone, and I've been told loving me for any length of time induces ptsd.

Okay. Don't stop drinking and you'll pull through this. I am here for you man.

Was it done for comedy purposes? If so, I’m sorry i missed it.[/QUOTE

Nope. That's what made it amazing. Dude was "undercover" and didn't want to get caught. It became insane when other fans started pulling into the parking lot, complete with a Gruden sign.

The complete recording is still online. I'll see if I can find the link again.

The original Fat Mo's in South Nashville was the best burger I ever had. Once he sold out it was never the same.
