We now have over 4000 watching periscope live. Crowds are now literally chasing phantom planes. The risk of someone getting hurt, hit by a car is real (a little over exaggeration). Currie taking full responsibility for this hire is saying something. He almost, at this point, has to shut the Gruden rumors down if it's not happening. A public service announcement if you will. He hasn't, why you ask, because we have our man! Gruden Soon!!!

The ONLY alternative I wouldn't hate is Patterson. I would still be disappointed if it's him and not Gruden, but he is one that I would give the benefit of the doubt.

If it's anyone else, I will not like them until they start producing wins... This was my attitude towards Butch since day 1.

I'm with you for the most part. I would also be okay with Kelly, although it looks like he may be headed elsewhere, or Leach, who I've always liked but I realize that a lot of people do not.

But I am not convinced UT is committed to winning anymore and this hire will tell us what we need to know. Any of those hires will do nothing but tell the rest of the football world that Tn is actually a joke.

But didn't Jimmy say weeks ago that we would spend up to 6 million on the right hire? Now suddenly we aren't going to spend but can renovate the stadium for $340 million?

If true I can't imagine the rest of the assistants being announced until December when the regular season is over. That being said I hope this, if true, can help salvage the 2018 recruiting class..again..if true..

I'm highly optimistic that recruiting isn't really going to be much of a difficulty from now on, even with the early signing period.

FACT: Last week, Jon Gruden’s son was listed in the UTK online directory search. Now he is not listed.

Probably took him down so people would stop looking him up and emailing him for Grumors... I'm sure the kid is getting harassed for information.

This is in line with the last 2. Interest from top level coaches is the same or worse as those searches too, depending on who you ask.

I don't believe that... and Patterson was interested in 2008. Hamilton even interviewed him but hired Kiffin. Patterson is certainly a top level coach. I would love to have him if Gruden says no again.

I just can't believe he would do this again if he didn't have interest. That would border on cruel and with his family ties here, I don't know. Seems like he would have shut it down early on and said he's not interested in coaching college but will support us as he always has, etc.
