I disagree. Today is the perfect day to announce. I think it would get the team fired up. Especially the young guys who will be back next year.
Gruden could make an appearance on campus and meet the team in person. Give them them a pep talk like he did to that tire.

The Beav on Twitter:
@ErikAinge3 - You think it is good that Bama has Saban but the Vols should be fine with settling for a mid tier coach? That mindset explains why you are the most forgettable QB at UT while the most memorable is GETTING IT DONE!
Ok, this is what I'm talking about people. This is fiction, stop and think about this rationally for one sec. Someone as tight lipped and circumspect as ADJC is going to casually say this in public? He probably doesn't even speak in this manner to himself.Posting again because I shared info at 2:00am last night once I got the group message:
I am a current student at UT - close friend of mine (already graduated) works full-time in the media (production?) department for the AD at UT here in Knoxville - I wont post the screenshot out of request but...
- to get to the point they were told the AD is being prepared for an event the Tuesday after Vandy game
- told to set up in TBA (where normal press conferences are held)
- wasn't disclosed more information - peculiar according to him
- yesterday: overheard conversation between "one of Currie's guys" and "other guys" walking through the studio and one of them said "This city is going to go nuts when they find out..."
I don't really care about getting dragged through the mud. I only post what I trust - I corroborated the Dale Jones story early on with knowledge from a person who directly knew Dale (long story on how I knew that person) and I literally broke the von pearson assault story a couple years ago and got dragged for it, ended up being completely right. that's all I have and all i'll probably have until the AD media dept hears more.

Nick Saban's paycheck is getting a little bigger.
Approved on Tuesday by the UA Board of Trustees compensation committee, the Crimson Tide football coach got a healthy raise and a few more years on his deal.
Total pay: $8.2 million average including annual bonuses.
Expiration date: 2024 season.
And it comes with a $4 million signing bonus.
Include that lump payment and Saban's pay will be $11.150 million in 2017.
Well I finally know something..
It's not something we haven't already heard.
I can say for a 100% fact the vfls on Twitter are not trolling us. Look for an official announcement next Friday. 10 mill . Vfl with a super bowl ring is who I heard it from. Looks like ole schablach(sp?) Will be singing rocky top on Christmas eve..
Everyone just relax and remember who the people that laughed at us are..
Overton class of 94! Go Bobcats! Off topic, but I just started a yoga club there yesterday for the nonprofit I teach for, Small World Yoga. It was surreal being back in the hallways. Good times!
Edited for ridiculously bad spelling
This thread illustrates a lot of what's wrong with this country today. Anybody who disagrees with your agenda to the slightest degree has to go. Carter is a better poster than 99% on here, and has been around for a long time. It would be better for our collective sanity to have more rational, level-headed posters around here. :hi:
