You tell me. If Jon is hired and doesnt win big right away they media will be all over running negative stories, on the other hand if he comes and wins big in the first year there will be positive national stories. Either way it will be a circus.

Isn’t that the same with any power football program ? The question is do you want the media ( ESPN ) talking about what a matchup it’s going to be say vs Alabama or do you want to continue to hear them say that they shouldn’t even be making predictions when Tennessee is playing ?

I think Harbaugh is so arrogant that he thinks he is good enough without hiring the best coordinators. He thinks he is capable of being all things to all people. And, when Michigan is down for a few years, he will leave and lay the blame on the rest of the staff.

I think he's looking at the Colts job if/when they drop Pagano.

You make a good point and Currie he is definitely much more competent than our last two and has done a great job of keeping everything silent from the AD end.

Deer park already doubled down and told everyone they were idiots, said gruden wasnt coming. Ever. People tried to out him and he hasnt been back.

oh....i totally agree....but kids today are brutal!!! Again...if Gruden comes out with a well crafted statement after butch was fired and says he has no interest...then he would be well respected. At that point he could have just played it like Saban did years ago and still take the job or just walked away and no one would hold anything against him. Now with the way things are playing out....it aint gonna go over that well

Just received a text from same person who told me Butch was fired at 3:00am at Missouri that absolutey Currie was on plane, in Tampa putting on full court press. Only negative they’ve told me is Gruden is moving the goal post a bit.

Attention seeking behavior is well-rooted in lack of discipline/absentee parenting in the developmental stages of life. My ex-wife was a behavioral psychologist. She did her masters thesis on a similar subject and I had to help her study quite a bit.

This is the internet. Fantasies are boundless under the guise of anonymity. I wouldn't read too much into a Psych 101 method, and then apply it to a message board. Not only inaccurate, but disingenuous.

Just an opinion but lets look at what happened at Michigan. Harbaugh was hired as a "star" hire and now we look at the situation that his record is amazingly close to what Hoke's was.


No im not campaigning for Hoke. Im just saying because you hire a "star" coach it doesnt mean that you will be wildly successful.

I don't think Harbaugh has been as set as it seems Gruden is on hiring a stellar team from top to bottom. That's a huge difference I'm seeing here with all the names thrown around. They're all quality and bleed orange.

Let me be clear. I'm on here constantly because my work is at a desk and when I am not working Im reading Volnation. This thread specifically. I just don't post as much because I am lazy in that dept. Nonetheless, I read every page and go back and read what I did miss. I'm not one of those that ask "what did I miss?" I read to form my own opinion.

My observation right now from our beloved Volnation "Insiders" is that this thing is a wrap. Just can't wrap my head around why SO MANY are flipping out still?!

You see why people do not share honest opinions and info sometime? I didn't call anyone out by name and will not. Just not my style. I am not a huge regular poster on here but for my 2 cents I will say the ONLY people I 100% trust as "insiders" are LWS, Deerpark and Skeeter when posted and he still worked at UT (oops I meant when he still had contacts at UT lol).

Maybe "compiling" would have been a better word than trolling. I know some people on here have solid info based on what boosters have told them then others that take what some have posted, put a spin on it and then start to make prognostications that are based on what other people posted on the board.

I never want or wanted to douse the Gruden flame with water as I hope as much as anyone it happens. I am just cautioning everyone, based on the 2012 experience, to be careful about hanging on the every word of message board posters not names LWS or Deerpark.

I remember bcartervol98 from 2012. straight up guy. would enjoy his input. I followed him then , and would like to see him post regularly on here.

Alright guys, I have heard from sources how the press conference will go. It will be Hollywood like, since ESPN will be the network carrying the coverage.

The camera will start showing a helicopter flying in the distance, it will zoom in to show that it is a Monday Night Football helicopter flying over Knoxville. The camera now zooms closer to show Gruden standing at an open door in the helicopter. He jumps, salutes the Monday Night crew, and yells thanks for the Monday Night gig...

As Gruden is diving down, the Monday Night crew helicopter's camera catches Gruden chute supporting the power T on it. He is headed toward Neyland Stadium...

He land in the Checker Boards. The Pride of the Southland Band starts to form the T, then Gruden struts to the podium...

When Helicopter Coach steps to the podium, he says...

Clay Travis perks up, but oh it's just his press conference notes.

Gruden gives a monumental speech...

He finishes by putting the rest of the SEC on notice.
Gruden: "I am now driving this Big Orange train, so if you don't want to get run over, I suggest you get off the tracks!", then...

At least this is how I heard it would go down from my source.
