Full disclosure: I’ve been a “lurker” for 5 years and it wasn’t until last night that I actually created this user account. (Hate me if you may, but I’m just being honest). I am not connected nor do I have any information of value to add for y’alls information. I’m merely here to obtain ACCURATE information and to enjoy the fellowship.

Concern: I have followed this thread since it’s inception with much enjoyment, including the not-so-good stuff. This evening there were two (2), essentially simultaneous posts, that lead us all to believe our VFL prayers had been answered (Gruden deal was finalized). When I got back home from dinner, I logged on VN to find it was as if these posts had never been written.

Question: What in the f&$% is the real story?!?! Do we or do we not have the coach Vol Nation needs and wants?!?

You really think they have planned out the next 30 years of football when Curry took weeks to fire butch? Really? There has been this vast conspiracy to save the program and push for 30 years of dominance but he hemmed and hawed over getting rid of Butch?

Makes perfect sense

There may not be a 20 year plan, but to dismiss it without proof is being lazy. Tbh, that's exactly what the program needs. They have been shooting from the hip for way too long.

Yep, saw some of that when we left the restaurant. Nephew on my wife's side married into a wealthy family there. I was at Columbia for their reception after the wedding. So many people there I cannot imagine what the bill totaled. Like that was not enough they had many other pre and post wedding activities and meals. They also had some concert going on at the arena and saw a few fights as we drove though there as well.

Why is knowing the bartenders or caddies names, or details about the Honors course "hilarious" and "out of touch"? I've been to a ton of them, and it sounds like info any member woukd know to me. Atlanta Vol is about as legit as you get on VN.

Either you’re very young or just clueless how business works. You don’t think high level leaders of companies have 10-30 year strategies? Our own government passes legislation that specifically affects the next generation and beyond. TN is in the shape it’s in BECAUSE no one thought further then their own tenure. You know, other than you, the world is made up of other people.

Never claimed to be the smartest guy here, but I tell you what...Who is our next coach going to be? How are they going to do next season? How is Bama, FLA, UGA going to be? How much longer is Saban going to be there? Ok, now how about in 5 years? Since you think you know, tell me. Curries 10 and 20 year plan is to renovate the stadium and make sure the foundation is set for whoever the coach is in 10 and 20 years. He has already done that. There is no 10 year plan for who your coach is. HCs succeed or fail on their own time. Assistants leave all the time for other jobs. You, me, Currie....none of us know the future...there is no plan beyond the next hire.

However it’s my understanding there are other insiders over there, some that were run out of here.

Most of the info that hits there comes over here pretty quickly

there is more to all of this than hiring and firing. Whats the timeline on the 340m neyland facelift? You think it was drawn up overnight? Financial plans are absolutely projected and layed out in increments longer than 5 years. Doesnt mean they are met or unaltered during the timeframe.

I’ve already said multiple times I don’t know anything, I suspect that I’m a lot younger than you so perhaps it is just my ignorance.

But frankly, I see no reason to believe there is some vast plan for the next 30 years when looking at the past ten years shows that they haven’t thought beyond next Tuesday in any way shape or form.

Perhaps you’re right in that planning for the next 30 years is the way to go but what exactly in this administration has given you any reason to believe they will do anything more than what they have done previously? Beyond what might or might not be a coincidence?

I live with a conspiracy theorists and I’ll tell you the same thing I tell him. Proof, not guess work.
