Per friend who's a UT student:

"I’m in class with 8 football players including Vickers, Chandler, McBride and others and they were saying that Hoke is kicking them into shape. They said that they are shelling up for yesterdays practice. They made it sound like they haven’t been hitting in practice under jones. An offensive lineman in my class says that he hasn’t pushed a sled since high school as well. Hoke is making them run 30-40 plays at the end of practice first team vs first team. Jones was only having them run 5."

I manage people as well, over 100 people. You have to be firm but fair. Assertive but not bossy. Its the whole "catch more flies with honey" approach to life and business. Football is a business and in addition to being a horrible game-day coach he was also terrible at team development and leadership skills. He could sell the hell out of the School to a high school kid.

Dobbs bought him time, the AD change bought more. Irony is the time between the AD change and the firing killed a lot of the progress made. I would LOVE to see this team come out fired up and play hard these last two games and find a way to win. We are more talented than Troy and they beat LSU. Would be the epitome of irony for Butch's former to have one of his biggest wins the week after he is fired.

Gruden or not I have learned a TON over the last few days about Butch and it is not pretty. Amazing how someone could be such a great nice guy on one hand then be able to flip a switch apparently.

Not sure. I was in History 101 with Tee Martin. It was a basic freshman class (and he wasnt a freshman). Only time I had a class with a football player. I just assumed they were all regulated to the lesser classes..
