Stephen Hargis, Chattanooga Times Free Press, was interviewed by Finebaum this afternoon.

He said sources (Blackburn, potential coaching staff Gruden has contacted, among others) indicate that since Butch was fired, a push is underway to clear hurdles in getting a deal done soon with Gruden.

He said Gruden is trying to ensure he can assemble a coaching and support staff that gives him high confidence in quickly getting up to speed on college rules, recruiting, coaching and achieving success.

Hargis said the odds have risen subtantially this week to about 50/50 that Gruden will be UTs next coach.

Get your pre party, party and post party drinks prepared. I didn't wanna be a riddler but many on here know why I have to. Due to circumstances I must take a leave of absence. When I started posting I was curious, wondering about gruden then, boom I was involved in the know. I am beginning to sip my pre party drink. Twisted tea mixed with vodka. I will resume partying with you all soon. Once the #grumor becomes public it's gonna be a fun time. I'll be lurking

Thanx Tuesday

Over on TOS Hubbs had an interesting post today. Someone started a thread and asked him (for prolly the thousandth time) to comment on the Brice piece yesterday. Not a direct quote, but what I recall from reading it off of my boss' computer...Brice and Hubbs used to work together and Brice left for 247 for some reason. Hubbs: Ok, I've got this question a lot. Full disclosure, I received a text from a trusted source today saying it is a done deal, $10 million a year for 7 years, guaranteed. With a coaching staff consisting of former Vols, including some, if not all of Tee Martin, Randy Sanders, Dale Jones, Blackburn, etc (remember in the Hargis article, Blackburn refused to confirm or deny on the record if Gruden had contacted him about being part of his staff). Hubbs says he has been unable to confirm ANY of this...none of the supposed staff would return calls asking for comments. So he said take it for what it is...an unsubstantiated rumor, sent to him from an in the past, trusted source.

I know Hubbs is most likely tired of being asked to comment on this, and he's unable to do so with anything that he has confirmed...that being said, he shared what other people are hearing. I don't know about you, but this sounds like AMAZING news!

You're a keeper, Tuesday!! Good Man!!

Grude evening! I never post, but felt there was no time like the present. Thanks to all who bring the info, the wit, and the wisdom to Volnation. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to find Red October. Snagging the White Whale would make everyday seem like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, New Years Eve and my birthday wrapped in a burito, inside a taco on a McRib sandwich. Yes, I love food like I love the thought of grude vibes on our sidelines.

SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for the info, but, in this thread, that is ancient news! :)

I don't think Frost takes the UF job. Still think he ends up at Nebraska. I've been saying Chip won't end up at Flor or any SEC School. I really Think Strong or Taggart will be their next HC. Or maybe even DJ Durkin.

in an interview a couple days ago, Spurrier named 3 coaches and said the next UF coach would be one of those three.

Mike Leach -- Wash State
Mike Norvell - Memphis
Matt Campbell -- Iowa State
